I am ready to pass out with excitement over the announcement of La Prarie’s latest product, the Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Cream; being launched in September, it will put eye creams in a “whole new arena,” said Lynne Florio, president of La Prairie. I am curious to how they will improve upon perfection and can’t wait to find out. The eye cream will retail for $275 for 20ml and is expected to bring $30 million in world wide sales the first year (how many will that be? Roughly 109,090 jars). Yes it is more than double the cellular eye cream but I bet it will be a sell out. I’ve mentioned my obsession with La Prarie eye cream so you know I’ll be first in line at Saks when this hits the stores! Make sure you contact your La Prarie specialist immediately and put your name on the list!
The cream will be available at 200 U.S. specialty store doors, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom.
The product’s key ingredients include a trio of the brand’s proprietary complexes. They are Cellular Complex, which is said to help stimulate the skin’s natural repair process; Resculpting Complex, said to help reduce undereye puffiness and increase microcirculation, and Advanced Moisture Complex ++. The last complex combines Imperata cylindrica root to increase hydration with a protein cocktail, which includes caviar extract, sweet almond protein and a marine lifting complex that are designed to lift, firm and tighten skin, said Florio.
The formula also includes hydrolyzed wheat protein, said to help smooth wrinkles; restorative algae extract, intended to inhibit the appearance of dark circles; sea algae extract and vitamin E, said to fight free radicals and moisturize skin; arnica extract for its anti-inflammatory properties, and Nylon-12, a light diffuser that is intended to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
