Diane von Furstenberg Wrap Bag

Everyone’s heard of the classic wrap dress so ingeniously designed by Diane von Furstenberg in 1972 (actually, most of us have the effortlessly stylish dresses in our closets!), she has made a career (twice!) out of wrapping women in sensuous fabrics and now she aims to wrap your bag desires in the casually chic “Wrap Bag”. Just like the iconic namesake dress that has outfitted multiple generations, this signature handbag represents the ultimate in elegance, ease and functionality. I am completely intrigued by this new bag silhouette, when asked her inspiration behind the wrap bag, the perennially stylish and youthful DVF said “Ideal for the woman on the go, the wrap bag is a classic…elegant, glamorous, and super practical. It feels good to carry, looks chic, and holds everything I need and more…”. wrap2.jpg

There is also a detachable change purse inside that doubles as an evening clutch, multi-functionality of bags is a plus for the girl on the go! Available in two sizes, the Large ($700) and Bold ($900), both have adjustable straps to allow you to change the size according to your daily needs. Made of rich Italian leather in Denim Blue, Olive, Tobacco, and White. See Diane von Furstenberg Wrap Bag here. You can also indulge in a one of a kind genuine crocodile skin Wrap Bag in Ultraviolet ($10,000)! We’ve snagged an interview with the legendary DVF so stay tuned!

  1. ooh, i’ve been meaning to blog this for weeks! i had no idea there was a smaller size, though – that is extremely exciting news!

  2. I love DVF dresses!!! the bag is great in blue or white but in the darker colors it is frumpy.

  3. I love DVF. She’s up there with SJP, Madonna, and Kate Moss as my fashion icons, but I am not sure I can get behind this bag. You know I love a bag. There is something about the lines on this that seem awkward to me. I love her now-retro cosmetic cases and luggage, but I’m not sure that at this point it’s great to a) come out with a it-bag considering the current market or b) introduce a whole new style. But, then again, it’s these risks that have made DVF the icon she is, right?

I went to the DVF store on Melrose last week. The leather is great!! I am not sure about the style…it seems like a regular tote bag to me. Also, the only color that they had in the smaller size was tobacco and white.

  6. I don’t know about this bag.. it looks rather, dare i say it – cheap.

The way it looks and the shape just does nothing for me. And the blue (looking like blue jean) doesn’t do anything for the leather, which looks plasticky.

Her RTW is always fabulous, on the other hand.
