Celine Watch Me Dance: Do I have to?

watchmedance.jpgI feel as if I have nothing nice to say lately. I am going through look books and emails from PR firms like mad, trying to find a snob worthy bag to report to you but am coming up short. I saw this today and was immediately annoyed at being assaulted by yet another hideous bag but then I laughed; I mean it’s a silly clown of a bag with multi-patches and colors– one that is meant to be laughed at! After chuckling over the ridiculousness from Celine called “Watch Me Dance”– I thought, who would want a giant rubik’s cube for a bag? Then I noticed that it is sold out. As in every bag they had, bought. It’s a fairly new bag so it’s not as if it was sold during the sale extravaganza at 75% off. Whoever bought them all, paid full price. I hope they’re having fun with it. If you purchased it, let me know why you like it. Just curious. Was at Net-a-porter.com for $1,200 but is now sold out. Go figure.

i need some advice on a bag purchase. i’m in the market for a travel bag, but all of my friends are label whores and have already snatched up all the greats – the lv epi keepall and the balenciaga weekender. but yesterday i spotted this fab ysl on saks.com.

  4. Tina-

there is a new duffle bag from YSL that is divine, and the new pleated venetas from Bottega.

If you are in need of story material bags!

    =)

  5. Hi Irena,

That is so funny, I had just sent an email to the YSL PR director about the bags this morning. As for the Bottega pleated venetas… I covered that last Spring.. http://www.bagsnob.com/2008/02/bottega_veneta_fall_2008.html

I guess I could go over it again. Did you see the new puckered Bottega bag? It looks like a sharpei… I am going to catch flak from the Bottega PR director for saying that…

  6. Can’t put this into words….surely the designer is having a laugh on the buyers?!

    This is clown worthy!

  7. i know we have decided against using this space for personal dialogue but i’m dying to know what James got at Hermes for his birthday!

  8. Patchwork puke. I’m a fan of prime colours, just not on the same bag (a la Tetris). It looks suitable for a person living in a Florida retirement community. That reminds me, gotta call grandma.

  9. If someone gave this to me for free I still wouldn’t use it. Ugh, I can’t imagine why anyone would spend $1200.00 on this monstrosity.

  10. I did not see the sharpei bag, but hey everybody misses sometimes.

So you did do a story on the Fall Bottegas, but the pleated Veneta in the Baltic color is so yummy. Maybe it deserves another story!

  11. I’m thinking that Celine was going for the Broadway Boogy Oogy look by Mondrian. It is a series of colorful patches, and resembles a NYC traffic grid, or a jazz score…

You can see it in the new MoMA in NYC.

Otherwise, I don’t get it. They need to give me that job…

  12. myself to be a very good dancer, I want to make a good comment to dance to a very good artist and I think very good about this kind of need
