Fun For Kids!

I went to The Sports Club/LA last week for an event they were hosting to showcase some of their newest classes and amenities and just had to share some of the great classes they offer for kids!

The Sports Club/LA calls the tot part of their club For Kids Only and they offer activities for kids from 6 months on. All of their programs are focused on fostering self esteem, creativity, and problem solving, and they’re led by childhood education specialists. You don’t even need to be a member to sign-up your tot for their classes! — though it’s slightly cheaper if you are a member and I have to say, if you’re looking to join a gym, this one truly has unparalleled and luxe amenities (everything from spa to tennis– my two favorites! –and considering I live in Manhattan their amenities are unbelievably expansive!).

The tot class that seemed the most fun and innovative is called Mush! It’s a free-style, interactive art experience for children to finger paint, draw, play with dough and all kinds of other fun textures (gooey ones, mooshyone, bubbly ones!..It was even fun for me when I was testing them:) ), as they partake in sculpting, pouring, bubble blowing, and countless other activities.

There are two types of classes for Mush–

*1/2 Mush, 1/2 Music — in addition to Mush, children can play with instruments, as they sing along and dance with a musician

*Active Mush — in addition to Much, children can release energy while enhancing their motor skills and build strength by playing in an indoor toddler Gym

The classes are priced at $675 for members and $725 for non-members (once a week for 15 weeks).

Mush grows up a bit! — This class is designed with the curiosity and independence of 22 to 36 month olds (or mush grads!), in mind. Each week children are introduced to new shapes and colors as they experiment with water colors, glitter, paint, and glue all the while dancing and singing along with a children’s musician, as they work on art projects that they can take home with them (masks, collages, sand painting…).

This series of classes is priced at $750 for members and $800 for non-members (once a week for 15 weeks).

If your tot isn’t into taking a class, childcare is also offered at $10/hour for members of the club:)
