If it seems I am overdosing in Tod’s bags, it’s because I am. So yes, I am guilty of being seduced by the elegant old world ads starring Gwyneth Paltrow; but Tod’s also has, hands down, one of the strongest bag collections of the Fall 2008 season. I haven’t stopped dreaming about the Dokt croc bag but have added more bags to my list including the glistening one above (the dark red is great, I’d prefer it in chocolate but it only comes in this or black right now), and no– it’s not because I blindly covet all bags scaly. It’s because the bag is a perfect example of casual and simple chic.
The Pashmy is not a new shape for the House of Tod’s but for Fall, it is revitalized in lux snakeskin. As we’ve been saying, the boho-chic hobo bag is back and Tod’s combines it with impeccable detailing and butter soft skin. The handle sits on the shoulder nice and flat which allows the bag to slouch effortlessly against you without tug nor pull. And don’t you love all the multi pockets hidden behind the zippers? I do! I am a packrat and always have multiple receipts lurking in my bags along with to-do lists (my brain is deteoriating so I have become a to-do list junkie so I won’t forget to do important things such as pick up my son from little gym camp) and notes to myself to remind me to write my to-do lists, etc. Before I forget where I am going with this line of rambling, Pashmy bags are at Tod’s Boutiques- call Justin at 214-363-6600. Question: when switching from one handbag to another,do you use one of those handbag organizers or do you take out one item at a time? Or perhaps you have separate sets for each handbag,complete with wallet and accessories?

You have asked a question I have been debating with a friend who buys a matching wallet with each bag. Her husband’s reasoning is that if you can’t afford the wallet to go with the bag, you shouldn’t buy the bag. Which I just find bizarre considering wallets are not major purchases compared to bags! And who has time to change wallets every day or sometimes twice a day? Plus the whole matchy matchy thing is so ridiculous and just shows a lack of imagination and style.
However, I do have dozens of wallets but I only change them when I am bored of the one I am using.
Besides all the little pieces of paper I carry around (which I do not transfer from bag to bag because I forget to– and I do have a PDA and Blackberry but I forget to input things in there, too), I only have three things to transfer when I change bags. My wallet, phone and a make up bag. This makes it very efficient and fast when I have to toss on and go. Which is daily.

I love the pockets on the outside…I think this is a must have bag for the coming fall season for me, alongside the doc bag I also want from them, prob the leather version…

I am so sorry I did not see this yesterday! Balenciaga is lovely in the original City version. I find the giant version sort of obtrusive….
Go for the City bag! It is always edgy and urban chic– and it goes from day to night easily.

wait a minute…how many zippers does this bag have? i think i see 4, but it’s hard to tell with the color of the snakeskin. i only ask because you know how tods can get with the zippers.

I just found out the dimensions myself this morning and was devastated. No, I can not rock it. it will carry ME. The fabric Pashmy came in 3 sizes so I thought this would, too. 🙁
I was just on the phone with my friend Melinda who is 5’7″ with broad shoulders and told her to get the black…. she is on her way to get one now. LOL

Thanks for answering my question, I totally agree that buying matching wallet is just silly, especially when sometimes it can cost 1/3 of the bag price!
I love Anya Hindmarch’s accessories,they go with any handbag and at the end of the day isn’t your phone and make up bag all you need anyway? Cannot wait to get my hands on the iPhone, it’s sold out in UK right now but once I get it, I really won’t need a lot of stuff with me at all times!

I love Tod’s! They make the best shoes- attractive and comfy (I really appreciated the comfort during my year in NYC!). I love their bags but they always end up being major sources of regret for me after I buy them.

I’m sorry and i don’t mean to be rude but Tina, why would you have to “toss on and go daily” when you sit at a computer for hours a day organising blogs. No offence but it doesn’t exactly seem like a physically hectic or demanding schedule.

I only sit at my computer early morning (for 30 minutes) before my son wakes, on the rare occasion when he naps, and at night after he sleeps.
During the day, I am shuttling him to gym camp, swim camp, play dates, or taking him to the aquarium or the children’s museum.
One or two days a week I schedule my meetings with retailers/designers to view bags and those days are even more hectic.
I volunteer through the Junior League in addition to sitting on the board of multiple charities.
Plus I also travel a lot, at least once a month I am in New York or LA, last month was Europe. When I travel my schedule is packed with showroom visits and designer interviews.
So you see, toss and go is actually putting it mildly 🙂
I am constantly on the go 🙂

The above bag is very similar shaped to the GD Midday Midnight bag…this shape and style seems a popular one for fall!
I have seen numeours pics of Eva Longoria toting a different colour of the GD Midday midnight bag since you posted about it…is she a true fan of GD or are they gernerously gifting her to raise the profile in the US?! I know you mentioned letting us into a story of Eva after your meeting with GD….do share!
