Recession Beauty

The NY Times recently ran a story in their Fashion & Style section reporting on a trend that has brides sending their bridesmaids to the spa to get Botox before the big day. If however the thought of a needle in your face scares you, there are a handful of Botox alternatives — from glycolic acid products like the newly launched AB Skincare line (which is used in chemical peels), to Stem Cell Technology in products like Amatokin, and even drug store products like Neutrogena Healthy Skin that use Retinol.

More after the Jump!

AB Skincare’s AB 10% is formulated with glycolic acid to cleanse skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and significantly reduce the size of pores. The cream is said to exfoliate dead skin without dryness or irritation and regular use is said to deliver clinically proven anti-aging benefits, including reversing sun damage and correcting hyper-pigmentation and discoloration.

Amatokin from Voss Laboratories utilize stem cell technology to fight the signs of aging. This is one of the weirdest things I’ve read in a very long time! Stem cells in cream?? Apparently it works like magic though:)

Neutrogena Healthy Skin is a Retinol facial treatment formulated with multi-vitamins. I love Neutrogena because even though the moisture isn’t the best I can always trust it to not clog my pores:)

Lastly, like the products above this one won’t give you instant results like Botox, but I think M LAB is a wonderful alternative for needle-averse folks!
