TWINKLE by Wenlan

2104962695_497de53481.jpg I have a feeling that knits are going to be huge come fall (does anyone else associate Nicole Kidman with chunky knits?? For some reason I feel like I always see her pictured in them in paparazzi shots!). I love that weather where you can get away with not wearing a jacket and you can just go out in one of those uber cozy knit sweaters that make you just want to curl up by a fire and sleep! The only problem with busting those out in early fall is that while it works for outside often times the second I’m no longer outdoors I’m sweating bullets! Which is why I loved Twinkle by Wenlan’s fall collection. Twinkle is all about knits (designer Wenlan Chia even has a yarn collection!), and her collection has chunky knits that are perfect for the earlier part of fall because of their shorter sleeves. Can’t wait for Fashion Week to see what Wenlan has in store for us for Spring 2009! In the meantime check-out some of my Fall favs below:)

  1. Tina, I now can’t wait for fall bring on my new wardrobe that is already full of some knits!!! Just the other night I was tempted to pull it out of the wardrobe but had to resist!!

Can’t wait to hear bac on fashion wk and 2 see you girls in action on your mini film clips!

Talking of NY I am visiting in Oct and have spoken to 60 Thompson where we are staying to try and book The Waverly Inn, they say it is on invite only but i have read reviews on socalled “normal people” going….have you been and can you get a table? Or do you have any other hot tips where to eat?!

  2. O 60 Thompson is great they actually have a fab restaurant called Kittichai also accross the street is a very popular restaurant/bar called Tailor that has crazy things like edible cocktails and absinthe gummy bears! About Waverly Inn, I suspect it’s true since they don’t publish their number though via a hotel is a good way to go…I’ve been to Beatrice Inn a few times and there is never a guarantee to get in — even if you’re a regular — so I suspect Waverly is same deal…probably harder now since the NY Times just wrote a story…Other great places to eat are Buddakan, Morimoto, THOR, Pastis, Balthazar, La Esquina, Fig & Olive in MPD, Momofuku is always popular, Adour is less trendy more “fancy” but amazing food! as is L’Atelier from Joel Robuchon, Delicatessen is fun and for brunch nothing beats Prune and Bistro Bagadelle…hope these help!! Also for casual drink Milk & Honey, White Star, Backroom, Rose Club, and Rose Bar are great (Rose Club is new place in the Plaza..very modern/fun with old school vibe)…Apiary has best sangria in the world and Milk & Honey is a great experience I can email you the “secret” number if you don’t have it and want it:)

  3. Wow Sharon not sure I will have much time to do anything else in NY other than eat & drink!! Thanks so much for the info nothing like real insider knowledge!! Will let you know how I go. If you don’t mind sending me the secret number that would be fantastic, think you guys have access to my email address if not do let me know…does the number get you a table?!

Once again thanks for your help I know your blogs isn’t about great places to eat!!

  4. Hehe no problem I don’t cook so I go out a lot:) I just emailed you the number let me know if you didn’t get it. Just send a text message to that number the morning of when you would like to go and they should be able to accomodate you:) Definitly worth checking out and they make arguable the best drinks in nyc — plus worth it just for the whole text message gimmick — you have to send them a text message when you are there for them to buzz you in!

  5. Sharon if you go before me do let me know what you thought…oh and if there is a dress code, I imagine it to be very smart?!

Have fun, & thanks for the help girls!
