Frugal Snob: L’Oreal Skin Genesis and Simple Wipes

Recently I wrote about how every other day I’ve been using Kanebo Sensai’s Instant Silky Foam Cleanser and alternating it with a drugstore find and my Clarisonic. Well, when I wrote about my love for the Clarisonic a short bit ago I didn’t go into too much detail about how I’ve been using it and with so many people now looking to mix high and low I thought I’d share a good bargain find! The Clarisonic actually comes with three cleansers that you can use with the brush, but since they’re so conveniently packaged in travel size tubes I’m saving them for when I actually travel and I’ve been using L’Oreal Skin Genesis ($7.99) instead. First I prep my face with water and a facial wipe — I’ve just stated using a new one to be added to the “works well” list — Simple Wipes which have no perfumes or dyes, are 100% oil and alcohol free, and are formulated for sensitive skin to remove make-up and waterproof mascara ($6.49 for 25 at Duane Reade). Then with a lukewarm washcloth I put L’Oreal Skin Genesis all over my face, turn on the Clarisonic and poof! All dirt, oil, and makeup gets brushed-away. I finish with another wipe and some anti-aging cream (still love the one from Givenchy!). I’m happy with my current routine because it truly, in my opinion, shows that you can maintain healthy skin by mixing luxury finds with drugstore ones:)
