Rembrandt Whitening Strips

Rembrandt 2.jpgI got so excited when I got a release about Rembrandt’s Whitening Strips emailed to me because I had no idea that Rembrandt made this kind of thing! I’ve used Crest Whitestrips before, but while they effectively whiten my teeth, the strips almost always slip off and cause my teeth extra sensitivity — so basically I can only keep each strip on for about 15 minutes or else risk getting an absolutely awful stinging sensation. I used Rembrandt Whitening Strips, Mint ($19.99) and literally after the first day I could see a difference! I don’t like mint at all (I use, no joke, Barbie toothpaste), but the flavor wasn’t invasive. My teeth are pretty white as is so while you’re supposed to use the strips for 30 minutes a day for five days, I only used them for 2 days and that was enough for me to get my desired whiteness! Best of all the strips use something called FormFit Technology so they easily adhered and conformed to my teeth (the strips look like a mouthpiece one might wear on Halloween!). Also, I didn’t experience any horrible tooth sensitivity, though this is definitely something highly personal so I would recommend for any first time users to be ready to take-out the strip just in case they adversely react. Lastly, there is also Rembrandt 2 Hour Whitening Kit ($18.99). I haven’t used this one yet, but from how fast the 5-day kit worked, I don’t doubt their 2 hour claim one bit!

  1. I have always wondered what products you use as there is nothing like the white American Smile….do people use these kits as well as getting it done professionally? When i was in New York I went past lots of teeth whitening centres…do they work best and then just top up with the home kits?!

I have a home kit myself that was about $500 but made my teeth so sensetive I had to stop using it!!

  2. I’ve never had my teeth done professionally, but I’ve heard that it does cause many people tooth sensitivity. Plus given that Crest Whitestrips hurt my teeth I’m way too scared to try anything more potent than an at-home kit! Leighton Meester, Hayden Panettiere, Nigel Barker, and Jack McBrayer supposedly all use this kit for their pearly whites and it worked quickly and without any pain for me:)

  3. I have sensitive teeth too–my dentist once told me that much of the stinging and and adverse reactions that are caused by at-home treatments (namely the Crest whitestrips) happens when the bleaching agent creeps up underneath the gumline. Ouch!

If you use trays or something similar, that contours around the tooth, like it sounds the Rembrant kit does, it helps keep the whitening/bleaching agent from getting under the gum where the enamel is weakest, thus preventing the sensitivity, at least a little bit. Makes sense!

I will definitely try the Rembrant kit though! Sounds like a winner, and it won’t break the bank either.
