Congratulations to Deepthy of Albany Georgia, our winner!
Thank you to Jimmy Choo and Vogue TV for the giveaway.  And thank you all for participating!!!

Only six blogs (and their respective BFFs) were invited to the Jimmy Choo/VogueTV party in NYC two weeks ago; VogueTV wanted to keep the event very intimate and exclusive and chose their favorite fashion blogs to attend. During the 2 hour long event we sipped rose champagne and hung out with Jimmy Choo president Brian Henke who gave us a lesson on the history of Choo. Throughout the evening we were also surprised with games and giveaways. One of the surprises was for a blogger to win a pair of Choos to give away on her blog. We were asked to put our names on a card that were put in a bag (Jimmy Choo natch) for the drawing. Brian Henke did the honors and guess which blog was picked? So– one of our lucky readers will win a pair of Jimmy Choo Clue shoes in her size and the skin of her choice!

Are you excited yet?  We certainly are– we are totally obsessed with the Clue shoes– a sleek pair of platform stilettos that will take you through the jungle of life from work to play and beyond. I got the metallic silver snakeskin pair which goes with everything in my closet and has already received plenty of wear!

To win– “If you were asked to name a Jimmy Choo shoe what would you name it and why”

  1. If I were asked to name a Jimmy Choo shoe I would name it:

The aventurier (or l’aventurier), because with a pair of Jimmy Choo’s on, you feel like you are ready for anything!

  2. I think I would go with Lilac. It represents something refreshing, beautiful, and delicate-yet is something you want around every day. And they always make me smile.

  3. “Avis” would be the perfect name for a new Jimmy Choo creation. They could be a lovely pair of summery, strappy sandals in soft metallics – floating and ethereal like a bird in flight. Or, they could play off of the more masculine aspects of the word, as “Avis” would be just as apt a name for a sleek pair of shoe booties with the cool grace of an airplane slipping into the horizon.

  4. I would name a pair ‘Solace’. In today’s economy, there’s not much to take comfort in, but with a pair of Choo’s you know there’s always tomorrow. The feeling of empowerment and confidence that his shoes can provide has never been more reassuring.

  5. ‘007’

Wearing Choo shoes make you feel invincible, daring and empowered with a bag full of secret weapons, not the least of which is..your choo shoes!

  6. If I could name a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes, I would name them “Audrey”, a la Audrey Hepburn of course. Jimmy Choo shoes are timeless, classic, and unforgettable, just like Mrs. Hepburn!

  7. I would name the shoe “Penang”, after the hometown of Jimmy Choo. Each Jimmy Choo shoe should express the line as a whole, and what’s better than a shoe that shows where it came from?

  8. If I could name a pair of Jimmy Choos, they would be the fiercest red patent leather pumps and I would call them “Devil Woman” because whoever wore those would be protected on high by the prince of darkness.

  9. “Beyond”. Because fabulous shoes like Jimmy Choos take their wearers over and beyond in so many ways. Quite literally, they take us beyond our natural height. But they also make our bodies look lither, they make us stand straighter and taller, and they give us so much more confidence and strength. They also take our outfits beyond their normal blandness to a new level of glamor and sophistication! If there’s any single word that can encompass the miraculous effects of a pair of Jimmy Choos, it’s “beyond”. :)

  10. If I could name a pair of Jimmy Choos, I would call them Dallas. It is my hometown and everytime I set foot in Dallas I automatically feel more confident and a tiny bit mischievious just like when I slip on Jimmy Choos.

  11. I would name it the Ah Choo; so that every time it was mentioned, someone would say “God bless you!” which is exactly how you should feel–blessed–to own them!

  12. I’d name it “Guinevere” (named after King Arthur’s wife) because stiletto Choos are sexy, sassy and enough to cause someone to become an adulterer, like Guinevere. LOL!

  13. I would borrow a line from Carrie Bradshaw and name mine ‘HELLO LUVAH!’ because that would be what I would exclaim every morning when I opened my closet and saw them there! (and boy did you ever pick the right pair! I developed instant lust for the same ones!) I have a birthday coming up in a few days, I’m going little black dress right now!

  14. I would name it Grace for many reasons. 1 It’s my name,2 Princess Grace Kelly, one of the most known and beloved fashion icons and 3 you really have to be graceful to walk in pair of stilettos.

  15. The name I would pick would be “Grail” as in “…everyone knows Jimmy Choos are the holy grails of shoes!”

  16. I would totally name a pair of Jimmy Choos Warhol–today’s fashion is largely mass-produced and commercialized, but there’s still a certain unique beauty to that. Thus, why not pay homage to the modern artist who exemplified that social commentary? :)

  17. I would name it Sunshine. With all the troubles in the economy, the feeling of putting on a nice pair of brightly colored (maybe yellow?) Jimmy Choos, giving you that amazingly uplifting feeling from the song ‘Walking on Sunshine’!

  18. i would name it “Isabella”, just because i think it is a gorgeous name (as are the shoes!) and it sounds so royal and elegant. :)

  19. Zesty – when I think of zest, zesty, its something that pops, making anything it touches a fabulous statement. It’s also like icing on a cake! That’s what Jimmy Choos are to me – a statement piece that when combined with other things just makes everything better!

  20. “James”…the more regal version of the name Jimmy. When you wear a “James” style Choo, you’re elevated (not just several inches off the ground) but in spirit, and perception. And let’s be honest – if you’re wearing Choos, you’d be more apt to attract a man named James, than Jimmy!

  21. I would name it “Cinta” . It’s a Malaysian word for Love . It’s the country where Jimmy Choo was born in and our “Cinta” for shoes brought all of his fans together . 😉

  22. I would name them “Layla” after the Eric Clapton song (acoustic version). They’re beautiful, comforting, always stylish. The elegance and prestige of Jimmy Choo carries into every elegant piece of footwear providing the esteem that you are wearing a dynamic piece of art. Jimmy Choo shoes are the perfect piece of footwear, elegant and clean, unrelentingly and unabashedly perfect. Shoes are the perfect article of clothing: you don’t worry about fussing with how they fall on you, what you’ve eaten, or how pale they make your skin look. Jimmy Choo brings confidence and comfort to women, like a timeless song or a suntan that never goes away.

  23. I would name the shoe Sakura, the Japanese word for cherry blossom. It would be a spring shoe, inspired by the annual blooming of the cherry trees, and I picture it as a delicate strappy shoe with some texture or depth to it – inspired by, but not imitating, the delicate petals of the cherry blossom. I think this name is particular special because it pays homage to Mr. Choo’s Asian heritage (yep, there are cherry trees in Malaysia, too) and still is a name that slips off your tongue and sounds sexy at the same time. Plus, I’ve been coveting spring weather after this winter, and I’d love to wear a shoe like this this weekend now that the weather is warming up! Delicate, sexy, luxurious… classic Jimmy Choo shoes.

  24. Hi, I would name my Jimmy Choo shoes “Sphinx” because I think that each pair of shoes represents something different to each woman and because the name is exciting, vibrant, and mysterious-just like the brand! Also, Jimmy Choo is a brand known for taking a chance on dynamic design, material (python please), and execution. Just what I need in my life. Thanks. I love your blog!

  25. I’d name it the Dagny, after the heroine in Ayn Rand’s ‘Atlas Shrugged,’ who was always confident, graceful, and sexy.

  26. …….. ……… …….. ……..

I would name the shoe ‘Phoenix’. A Jimmy Choo is always an object of great and mythical beauty. When I’m down and out, a fabulous Jimmy Choo makes me feel reborn again..it takes on the freshness of hope and LIFE itself!

    …….. ……… …….. ……..

  27. I’d name them the “Survivor” shoe. I’m a cancer survivor, and I’d love to be reminded of being fierce, strong and thriving every time I put them on – and that fierce fabulousness is what I think of when I think “Jimmy Choo”. It would be a nice way to showcase my survivor tattoo on my ankle! While we’re at it, we could give a portion of the proceeds to benefit cancer research :)

  28. “Smitten Kitten”

For a shoe that’s as sleek & sensual shoe as a feline…I’d be smitten with that :)

  29. I would name my special heel “Moment” because my meaning of life is “live in the moment” and my life is full of shoes 😉

  30. “Agrios” because it’s the Greek word for “fierce” or “ferocious”, which is exactly what Jimmy Choo shoes are; even the simplest of Choos are enough to simultaneously class up and sex up any outfit, which is, in my opinion, the essence of the word fierce.

  31. I would name it “Passion”. I wrote a blog post about the popular YouTube: Tokyo Dance Trooper. And it turned out the guy inside the costume is none other than Jimmy Choo’s son, Danny. CNN did an interview with father and son. Danny learned the ropes of his father’s business, but it was not something he was passionate about. Later on, he turned a favorite hobby into a successful career. I think behind every successful career you have to have passion. I, myself am trying to find what I’m passionate about. If there was a pair of Jimmy Choo’s named “Passion”, it will serve like a token to believe in your dreams, find your passion, or well at least you will arrive in style =)

  32. I would name it “Passion”. I wrote a blog post about the popular YouTube: Tokyo Dance Trooper. And it turned out the guy inside the costume is none other than Jimmy Choo’s son, Danny. 34. If I had the chance to name a Jimmy Choo shoe I would name it the “Antoinette.” The reason being that we are going through a recession and this shoe would be everything opposite of that. It would be over the top but not cheesy and it would remind everyone about the famous quote “Let them eat cake.”

  37. “Cleopatra”

After the Egyption Queen (Pharaoh) and fashion icon of the time.

    Or

    “Chelone”

    – a type of wild flower.

  38. “Cerise,” a marvel comic superheroine.

I would feel like a superheroine when I wore them…even when doing the most mundane tasks…and especially when walking down the halls at work.

  39. I would name them “Pickle”. Yes, so unflattering, but anytime you’re in a pickle, your Choos will be there to save your day, and put a big smile on your face. You know it!

Pickle is also my puppy’s name; he puts a smile on my face no matter what kind of day I’m having.

  40. Merovia – for some reason this word just popped into my head. It sounds a bit mystical and a bit romantic at the same time, perfect for Choos!

  41. I would name them Randy, which is a name that would fit with his current line and naming scheme. However, it is also a play on being sexy…put on a pair of Choo’s and you feel randy, sexy and ready to flirt with the hot man sitting at the end of the bar. Having these beauties can make you feel confident enough to pick up a Randy, Marco, or even an Ethan!!

  42. If I were asked to name a Jimmy Choo shoe, I would name it “Marconi” after my husband. Every time I would wear the Choos, I would will always feel he is with me since I cherish my Choos just as much as the love of my life.

  43. I would name my Choos Cartegena because, like all Jimmy Choos, Cartegena is sexy, breathtakingly beautiful, and just a little bit dangerous.

  44. I would name my Choos Cartegena because, like all Jimmy Choos, Cartegena is sexy, breathtakingly beautiful, and just a little bit dangerous.

  45. I would name them Vertigo, after Hitchcock’s film starring Kim Novak. Like her mysterious character in the film, their style embodies elegant drama, with a little hint of danger!

  46. Lots of names come to mind but I think Dali would be a great name, because the artist Salvador Dali created unique and forward thinking pieces of art. A Dali painting can add to an collection or be the collection on someone’s wall. Jimmy Choo is always creating and pushing the boundaries of fashion whether it is support to a fabulous dress through a classic shoe or making an outfit bold and one of kind through a distinctive shoe.

  47. I would name it “COQUETTE.” I am really really shy, but when I am on my Jimmy Choos, I don’t recognize myself, I feel the power to flirt, I am a total “COQUETTE.” I owe my perfect wedding day to Jimmy Choo. That day, I felt the power LOL.

  48. I would name it the “Chey” because that is my daughters name. She is the exact opposite of her name.. She is Beautiful and out going. By wearing a shoe named Chey I would not feel Chey but I would feel very tall, beautiful and out going…

  49. I would name them Janus, after the Roman god of beginnings and endings, which has 2 faces, oriented in opposite directions. Just as the god faces both the past and future, Jimmy Choos incorporate the master craftsmanship of the past with the latest styles. Plus, anyone who wears them automatically feels like a deity!

In angami (a dialect of Nagaland, in the northeast of India) it means to bring hapiness where ever you go.

  54. I would call the shoe “Zsa Zsa” for Zsa Zsa Gabor who was the first – and only – recipient of a Golden Globe Award for “Most Glamorous Actress.” She won the peculiar award in 1958. The category was deleted thereafter.

  55. The “Majestic” for it’s grace, simplicity and ultimate timeless chic-ness. It’s something you can wear with anything…

  56. I would name it Estella because the shoe resembles the curvature of latina women & the peeptoe has a hint of sensual appeal but still maintaining the mystery of what is not seen.Very flamenco in feel.

  57. I would name a Jimmy Choo shoe “Mia”. It’s my daughter’s name. At 3.5 she already has a most unique and fabulous sense of style. Each one of her outfits is pulled together with a pair of shoes. It’s like living with a little Kate Moss. She cannot wait to wear mommy’s Choos…She is fierce and so are the Choos.

  58. “Lustre” would be my choice. To me it evokes the liquid metallic sheen and the brilliant craftsmanship that Jimmy Choos are famous for.

  61. I would name it the “Cendrillon”, which is french for “Cinderalla”. Not only does the word roll off the tongue, but the shoe would be the type that, when worn, makes any girl feel like a princess. Every girl knows the story, and every girl has wished (or in my case STILL wishes) she could have been wearing those glass slippers that night. Every girl wants her Prince Charming, and Cinderalla got him. But confidence is the most appealing quality a person can have, and the Cendrillon would be one of those shoes that gives the wearer confidence. She knows she looks great; She knows her legs look long and lean; She knows that everyone is envying her and she knows that, at that moment in time, SHE is Cinderella.

  63. I would name the shoes Viola. That name belongs to my great grandma who has always had amazing since of style. The name Viola is a name from the early 1900s that you do not hear much anymore. I would name it “Calypso” to represent beauty, delicacy, and grace. Like the flower one of its options would be a cream boot with a pink undertone, and a light gold shimmering heel. It would be midcalf high, with a braided fringe around its edge in a light pink to make the undertones of the boot shine more. But like the Greek Myth, another color option would be a calf high boot with a thick heel, pointed toe, and than it would have a grey base with an aqua undertone, the heel would be a shimmering bronze with a bronze braided fringe. 263. Hi Bagsnobers!

Well, I would name a Jimmy Choo shoes ‘VANESSA’, because, first, it’s my first name 😉 and also it’s the name of a genus of gorgeous butterflies.

For the little story, the name was invented in 1708 by a poet for his lover Esther ‘Essa’ Vanhomrigh (so, Van-Essa)! so romantic :) so beautiful, so Jimmy Choo!

    Voilà!

  264. If I could name a Jimmy Choo shoe, I would name it Vin’mody. For one, I think the name sounds slick and curvateous! For two, there are so many Jimmy Choo shoes that I see can go vintage or modern and in between, to go with almost what ever style we feel into that day. They make us ladies that wear them feel like all sexy eyes are on us. I also feel like I just want everyone to see my sexy gorgeous shoes and would walk all over town in them for it to happen.

  265. I would name them “Tamara Choo” just because it combines both the owner and creator’s name, keeping the distinctive “Choo” last name. Also, most people aren’t aware that Tamara Mellon is the co founder of Jimmy Choo, so it would give both people justice.

a seductive woman characterized by using her sex appeal to arouse passion or seduce men. I like the play on the word ‘vamp’as it is the portion of a shoe upper that covers the instep and toes, but is also a seductive woman who uses her sensuality to exploit men. 304. I would name the shoe bombshell. The moment I step into a beautiful pair of heels I instantly feel better. The little things I see when I look in the mirror, the stresses I feel, melt away because on my feet are the most beautiful shoes. Whether I am still in the process of getting ready, with hair half done or fully made up and walking out the door, the moment I have those beautiful shoes I feel like I could be one of the old 50’s bombshells that graced the silver screens. “X” is a universal letter that is symmetrical, balanced and a common independent, unknown variable used in mathematics (which, indeed, is everyday life).

“X” is also a symbol for ‘kiss’ as written at the end of a letter, etc. It’s also the roman numeral for ten and Jimmy’s can undoubtedly make anyone feel like a Perfect 10.

Therefore, one can make their own feelings as to what the shoe means to them and the letter “X” couldn’t be a better fit for a Jimmy Choo shoe name.

Jimmy Choo make a person feel sexy, real and confident.

  330. I would name the above shoe the “Nita”. The reason I would do so is that my 5th grade teacher wore sling pumps, only they were usually navy blue or black leather, and didn’t have a platform. She often had to go to the principal’s office, and she would clop, clop, clop down the wooden floor of the hallway while her hosiery rubbed together on her thighs. The total effect was clop-shish, clop-shish, clop-shish. My 5th grade teacher taught for over 30 years in the school system (she taught both me and my son), and she surely deserves to have a shoe named after her.

I just couldn’t help but name that sling pump the “Nita”.

  331. I would name this shoe after my 5th grade teacher who wore navy blue or black sling pumps most of the time. Her shoes lacked the platform, but she taught over 30 years in the local school system and by golly deserves to have a shoe named after her. Therefore it would be the “Nita”.

So to me, Jimmy Choos are only as Strong, classy,& endless as the Woman who wears them. Jimmy choo is just a “shoe” until a woman slips them on & they become who she is. By Mayda

And I like the choice of wearing heels ambitiously arched so I watch my walk, shoes built on a thick soul to cushion gritty paths, I like the choice of —

  409. My Jimmy Choo Shoe would be called “Mercedes”, a feminine, elegant woman’s name and shoe.

If my Jimmy Choo Mercedes were to come to life, I see her as a 1940s society Dame. She would be dressed stylishly in a long, white, flowing gown with a slit that showed she had another side to her personality. Mercedes would have short, wavy, raven hair, fire engine red lips, and slightly kole rimmed eyes. She would cut a blaze through any crowd. 438. I would love to see a pair of “Zelda” Jimmy Choos! On top of being a beautiful and unique name, its also the name of one of fashion’s most important, yet underrated women- Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald.

The flapper movement is probably my favorite fashion era of all time, simply because it has ALWAYS remained a strong influence in fashion but has never really come back full force the way other retro styles have (mod, boho and punk for example). Zelda embodied the essence of the flapper – fun, flirty, and feminine but liberated… the same essence that Jimmy Choo embodies.

Oh and a flapper fashion essential? A nice pair of pumps! I’m sure if Zelda were alive today she’d love a nice pair of Choos!

  439. I would name the Jimmy Choo’s “She-Ra” after the television cartoon show that I watched growing up. She-Ra was a fierce female superhero and the twin sister of He-Man. This is a fitting name because Jimmy Choo’s are fit for superheroes!

  444. I wouldn’t mind guest designing a shoe for Jimmy Choo, haha. A bright Ferrari red stiletto pump causing wow reactions, with a little twist of course. Maybe the heel formed as the black Maranello stallion? I would name it “Ferrara”, naturally Ferrari inspired, what else can you expect from me.. I think Jimmy Choo and the best car brand in the world have much in common. They are both one of the best in their area, and it’s an honour to own them. You think of them as rare luxury, and if you have a good taste, you dream of them. Ferrara would be the ultimate luxury shoe, a limited edition that you only buy if you truly feel a passion for the shoe. That’s how it’s supposed to be, both in shoes, and in cars. And last but not least, a tribute to the heels you can walk in, because with Ferrara you would be able to race forward in a speed you couldn’t even imagine was possible with high heels. Comfortable and extraordinary, that’s the key to a good shoe.

(Can I start designing already..? Brian..?!)

  449. I would name it “Only” (or by its Finnish name, “Aino”); both for the shoe itself and for the woman worthy enough to wear it. Ideally this shoe’s appeal lies not in its instant ability to charm (so minimal jewels or decorations), but rather in its substance (hopefully made of an unique material), grace (versatility for daytime and night), and its creative but elegant form.

The style inspiration behind it is Queen Rania of Jordan, a woman exceptional not only in her beauty and style, but also have the intelligence and commitment to philanthropy and modernizing her country. Truly an inspiration to women everywhere.
