The “Loren” Hobo by Adriana Castro

lorenhoboac.jpg

Adriana Castro has a habit of naming bags after her friends (I just found out she designed a “Tina” clutch for Cruise 2010!) and why not? Our girlfriends inspire us and this is a great way to celebrate a friend! The “Loren” hobo was designed for a dear friend of Adriana’s, Loren Ridinger, a successful entrepreneur and style icon to all who know her. Adriana decided to name this bag after Loren as a way of thanking her for being an inspiration to young professional women. The “Loren Hobo” is an oversized, unstructured day bag with comfortable rounded handles, interwoven into the body of the hobo (Dimensions: 15 ½”h x 17 ½”w). The stylish shape is also very practical and functional, providing enough room to carry all of the necessities a busy girl needs to get through her day (you don’t want to know what I’ve been known to carry). I have felt the matte python skin Adriana uses on her bags and they are sumptuously soft beyond belief. You’ll want to sleep with it! You may order a Loren hobo directly from Adriana’s website here in 8+ colors. ($1,900 is pennies for a fab exotic hobo!)

The “Loren” is handmade in Colombia, created using Adriana Castro’s signature luxurious exotic skins, including python, The bag is also offered in ostrich and crocodile in shades of Natural, Royal Blue, Purple, Hot Pink, Green, Red, Black and Brown (More colors available upon request). The Python Loren Hobo retails for $1,900 and will be available for pre – order (limited time only) starting in June 15th , 2009 at adrianacastroonline.com.

  1. I believe you are correct– it was similar but it cost $4,000… and the bottom was square off on oscar’s?

  2. Totally different, I have the Oscar and it’s petite, unstructured and it drapes different. I ordered the Adriana Castro Loren Hobo last week and I received it, they had this color in stock! They no longer have it, now the website reads made to order. The bag is spectacular – oversized, unstructured, long handles and the skin is so soft. Go to the website to see the interior, so spacious…I am 55 years old and I feel so young carrying this bag. Thank you Adriana. Congratulations on your award. Keep up the good work!

  3. Love at first sight. Ordering this bag by phone as I write my comment. This bag is exactly what I was looking for. Help me! Royal Blue or Natural? Thanks.

  4. I am a buyer for high end stores here in the US. Some of our stores started carrying Adriana Castro handbags a couple of months ago and they are selling fast. Customers love the quality and the styles. I will be visiting the showroom soon and will order this bag for our stores and for me!

  5. cute, fresh and well priced…I LOVE IT! carlos falchi should take notes. it’s impossible for bags not to have some similarites. take the hermes baccara and the oscar de la renta grafton for example.

  6. This bag is a total rip-off of the Oscar de la Renta’s from spring 2008. When you see this bag on the runway being carried by the model it is definitely not a petite bag.

  7. So happy to see the “Loren” bag here today. I am officially stalking this bag, it’s just that fab! I am following @AdrianaCastro on Twitter!

    Have a ‘bag’tabulous day everyone!

  8. I love this hobo. I will order it once I receive my bonus! I called and they just sent me a picture of the bag in natural python. It’s a must have!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. YES, ODLR had a similar bag last year called The “Fairfax”

I have it in gunmetal and its FABULOUS and so is this bag!!LOVE!!

I’ve always dreamed of having a bag named after me–HEHE! =)

    XOXO

  10. Beautiful!

I want to buy a wallet from Adriana Castro but they unfortunately don’t ship outside US. And they don’t have any stores in Europe either…

    What’s a girl to do?

  11. Some similarities are acceptable but 90 percent of this bag is ODLR. I wish Tina or Kelly would do a comparison of the two bags.

  12. It is very sad to see how new designers lack orginality in their work… the bag is exactly like the OSCAR de la renta FAIRFAX. Why would you pay $1900 for an imitation…?

Sorry very dissapointed, this is the same as carrying a fake..

  13. I have seen a couple of bags made of exotic skins and most of them look alike! I have even seen Oscar de la Renta copying a lot of Hermes bags too.

I do love this hobo more than ODLR and the price! One last thing, why doesn’t this designer model her bags. She is beautiful and young! The best of luck to you, Adriana.

  14. I think that hard leather lasts longer and keeps its shape more than a soft handbag. After being out all day with the bag under your arm, you wouldnt want to see a crease. Coach and Louis Vuitton handbags are made to last a long time, and needless to say, are very well made.
