Tragic Tees

jLo tee shirt.jpgLately I’ve found myself with quite the tee shirt dilemma. Everytime I reach for my favorite

KAIN,

Splendid, and

Alexander Wang T Alexander Wang sumptuous, soft tee shirts– I’m finding holes! Yes, I know that’s the risk I take in buying such thin tees, but at 90 bucks each they should NOT be ripping after one gentle cycle. And paying 6 dollars for dry cleaning each time I wear a tee (which is at least a few times a week) just seems completely ridiculous. To me, the perfect tee shirts are the ones that can be thrown on with anything from a pair of leggings while running errands, or can be dressed up with a hot mini skirt, blazer, and killer heels. There is nothing sexier than the slouchy tee shirt that says “I just rolled out of bed and happen to look THIS good!” So before I go out and waste my money on a whole new stack of summer tees……which designers make your favorites tees and what makes them Snob Worthy?

  1. Splendid, although cute and soft, are just too pricey for a tee and they are just plain too thin. I wore mine after 4-5 washes and then trashed it cuz it looked so raggedy. I now like Banana Republic tees. They are affordable and of good quality.

  2. J.Crew – they hit my curves just right for whatever reason. They don’t shrink like so many mall brands plus I like to buy a new set of colours and necklines for each season. I am way too frugal for some of the top designer tees, especially with toddlers at home.

  3. kamo- I knew you had snob/discerning taste

Our bag snob t-shirts are made of American Apparel tees 🙂

  4. What makes a t-shirt worth $90? And then they get holes after one or two wearings. I don’t understand. I get my tees from L.L.Bean or J. Crew. They fit well, feel great and last long, plus you can wash them 100s of times before they start to fade. Perfect!!

  6. I have been living in American Eagle Deep V neck shirts all spring/summer. 12 bucks a pop you can’t beat that and they are sexy
