Christian Louboutin Bianca 140 Python

christinalouboutin_biancapython.jpg

Ahhh, what am I going to do? I just bought the Jimmy Choo Proud elaphe pumps ($860) and those were going to be my ONE big Fall shoe purchase. And now I am going to die, these Louboutin Bianca Python pumps in glorious gray are killing me!!! The Choos are leather embossed leather to look like lizard which is nothing when compared to real python!! The choice is clear but there is quite a price discrepancy, almost $500. And I have a rule about shoes, nothing over $1000 which these clearly break. But they are special (like everything else I buy, right?) and in gray python, there is no such thing as “last season”. I think I’m going to return the blouses I bought today, they total about $470 and that way I won’t break my $1000 rule. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do. Because I don’t think I can live without these. The 140 refers to the height of the heel in mm. At Net-a-Porter for $1335.

  1. Truly, these are fierce: I applaud your taste. Beautiful colour and texture, with perfectly sized scales; they look lush. But they are 14cm high! That’s 5 and a half inches in real money; in other words, it’s a Naomi moment waiting to happen. Even with a platform, that’s a bloody skyscraper of a shoe. (Emphasis, btw, on the “bloody”).

In the wise and insightful words of Tina’s son, “walking is dangerous”. When you fall you’re going to scuff that lovely python on the heel and the platform so that one fall will wreck the shoe, to say nothing of what it’s going to do to you.

However fierce the shoe, nothing is as compelling as people who feel confident walking in them. Really, do you think that you’ll be able to walk comfortably and nonchalantly in them, or will you be doing the LA teeter-totter?

Keep the blouses – much more bang for your buck, and get a more wearable pair with a more realistic heel. Beatrix Ong does a very similar pair in grey python with a more wearable heel in a maryjane style (the Glare) for £378 (http://rousiland.com/product.php?productid=16548&cat=328&page=1). Even if they don’t rock your world, there must be others out there which are comparable but which won’t cripple you.

  2. They are double platform so they are doable. These are definitely valet shoes, no walking around town for sure. I can’t be talked down, I have already made arrangements in order to acquire them =)

    Love, Kelly

  3. That is funny to call them valet shoes. I just wore platform Louboutins this weekend and tripped in them twice, my husband is saying do not wear these shoes again. I said I can wear them when I just walk from the car into the restaurant and back to the car. I guess they are valet shoes only!

  4. I wish you joy of them, then. They certainly are a beauty to behold. I just wish that they were a bit lower.

Valet shoes must be an LA thing. I have cab shoes, which are alright except when the supply of cabs evaporates unexpectedly and then, oh the humanity.

  6. I don’t know, I kinda like the JC elaphe pumps. I was drooling over them when u had a pic posted on this site. Can I buy it from u if we’re the same size? cuz they’re no longer available at net-a-porter. j/k
