Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment

One of the things my bf complains most often about is how I always smell like “lotions and potions” — he’s not a fan (especially when they’re greasy and they rub off on him…boys they just don’t understand!). While I do take his aversion seriously, it’s not worth risking premature wrinkles! There is one area however where I can make a comprise and that’s with lip balms. I’ve been a longtime user of L’Occitane’s lip balm which is moisturizing without imparting any smell. The last two tubes I’ve bought however did not penetrate my lips well (at first I thought maybe I had gotten an old tube, but when I bought the second one and had the same problem I knew it couldn’t be that…new formulation perhaps). Any case, Fresh has a lip treatment that is a nice alternative. In fact I’m surprised it took me this long to try! Their Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 ($22.50), is pretty much a classic and now they’ve come out with Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 ($22.50),  which is basically a very lightly tinted version of the original. Both smell the same — lemon-meringue-esque. They penetrate easily and I don’t find the need to wipe my lips after applying it because of any overly-greasy/waxy feel. My lips are a very deep red naturally so I actually don’t notice much of a difference between the tinted and non-tinted treatment, but some slight, sheer color is never a bad thing. The only downside is the price. $22.50 is just a smidgen steep for a lip balm. That said finding a long-lasting, moisturizing, non-waxy one that has a smell that I actually like is no easy feat. For anyone in the market for a lip balm, these two from Fresh are most definitely worth trying out.

  1. Good post, I love this chapstick but agree it’s too expensive. Also, it’s “in any case”, and “no easy feat”. Just bothered me so I had to say, sorry!
