Jennifer Lopez’s Valentino Petale Studded Satchel: Snob or Slob?

valentino-petale-tote.jpgjenniferlopezdate33091.jpg

The Valentino Petale Satchel — the bag that won’t die. I see this bag along with the downright awful glossy Bow Shopping Tote EVERYWHERE! I actually liked the Petale when it first came out. I thought it was fun and original, but now given its omnipresence it has lost all its spark and the stud version is just plain tacky in my eyes. Come on J. Lo you can do better! I have to say though I still like the Rosier version of the bag which I don’t see toted around nearly as often.

Are you as over the Petale as I am? Do you think J. Lo’s stud version is Snob or Slob?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. It looks good on her, but I personally find Valentino’s rose themed bags a bit creepy. I feel like they’re going to come to life and chew my arm off or something haha..

  2. Although I am getting tired of all the rose-themed Valentinos, this one is kind of funky and cool. Although I’m not running out to by it because I already have 2 rose Valentino bags, I still like it…

This year, I’m sticking more to classic handbags like the Dior Granville…

  3. This bag made me think of black roses, and how you would send black roses to someone you hate and want to die.

  4. I actually think it looks really cool! It adds an instant edge to the look but yet still feminine enough.

The bow shopping tote is really not that awful either… It’s a good shape and well-compartmentalized – very practical for everyday use! 🙂

  5. WOW this bag is amazing! It so original! Studs and florals are totally in this season and this bag is a fabulous way to incorporate them both together. I love the fact that the bag is a flower so it defly gives off a feminine look and the studs add an edge to it without giving off to much of that punk rock style.

  6. I´ll always connect Valentino with the rose. However the rose plus studs are a bit too much, so I´ll say slob.

  7. Every time I see this bag and laugh and show it to my friends to watch their reactions. Not one of us likes it and I remember when I first saw it, I took a picture and texted it to all my friends and the comments I got back were hilarious. This is definitely slob.

  8. I want to say slob when i first saw the bag, but I really like it on J. LO especially with her outfit in that particular photograph…and the more i look at this, the more l like it on her…

  9. The Petale MINUS studs is a gorgeous bag. Are you serious? The Rosier is awful. Especially because it is not even leather and costs over $1,900! Come on!

  10. It’s very ” working girl slob “..J.Lo makes this work, but the Petale always seems to be trying to hard, particularly studded. I crushed on this bag for a moment I’ll admit, and it’s preferable to the Rosier-but no it didn’t keep me up nights- which is unusual for a Valentino bag.

  11. Many a Valentino bag has kept me up nights- this is not one of them. The Petale, in particular country cousin STUDDED Petale is less the slob than say the Rosier- but slob just the same. J. Lo makes it work sort of but I fear it’s only earning minimum wage.

  12. Scrap the rose and ruffles and just have the studs that are in the background and this would be a cool bag. With the rose however, total slob.

  13. I LOVE THIS LOOK — The studs really do add a edgy look, but the petale keeps it very feminine. I carry a Big Buddha bag that looks similar, and I get stopped with complements everyday!!
