It’s all about draping. Palette is mostly muted sand, linen and khaki but with splashes of yellow, green and warm red/orange. DvF is already known for flattering the female figure, but this collection is really about the real woman. She is the ultimate modern woman who gets to have it all – including eating!! The inspiration for this collection is desert safari oriental. So as always, for Diane, eclectic. Prints – gorgeous, but with some glamour. Yay for the return of decadence. We see lots of metallic embellishments and beaded details. Dresses are draped, but she leaves room for hot and sexy like the tightly banded chiffon dress. For the loose and casual, the layered look of dress over tee is perfect for the realistic lifestyle of a woman, like me, who needs to run out with only 5 minutes to spare. The wrap dress is not as prevalent in her collections anymore, but she had to appease with a printed bright orange and red striped perfection that will most likely be her best seller. She ends with a jaw-dropping gold mesh dress that makes Aphrodite look like a big frump. But like Aphrodite, you don’t have to be a stick to look absolutely amazing!
