Tod’s is the most amazing label when it comes to bags that fit an active lifestyle – some might mistaken this virtue as boring but I own more Tod’s than any other and believe it or not, I am still not bored! Far from it. How can a consistent go-to bag be boring? And because of that, it is a great value. Especially this coated canvas for $995. The center panel looks like patent and the sides are textured so you get the contrast. I love the details on the shoulder strap, just a bit of hardware brings the eye over to take notice. And don’t even get me started on the color! This blueish gray is so perfect, but I am trying to convince myself it is more gray than blue because I’ve noticed that I have 3 blue Tod’s bags already. This is such a great throw around, run around bag that sits on the shoulder comfortably. I can not say enough about how important that is because those are the bags you end up using the most! At Neiman Marcus for $995.
I understand where you are coming from, but I would not pay that much for canvas…I would put in an extra 400$ and get one of those leather purses from Tod’s any day!
I just love this bag!!! Great color and incredible attention to details, in the best Tod’s tradition. One cannot get bored with Tod’s bags – they are truly timeless classics.
I would never buy a coated canvas bag for any amount of money. This bag still makes me yawn…
Great bag – ridiculous price – stop taking the consumer for fools. I can name 3 brands that do a similar bag for one eighth of the price.
If you can find bags by 3 designers that cost less, you should buy them. They will not be the same quality of a Tods bag, but at least it won’t be a “ridiculous price.”
Tod’s quality is not superb anyway.I owned a few Tod’s and am pretty disappointed with its pashmy bag where the zip got stuck with the lining. Sent back to the boutique to get it fix and was told this is a commmon problem for pashmy bags. So what’s the point of paying “ridiculous” price for such so called quality bag? !!
This is a great travel bag – cotton coated canvas is very light weight and can be wiped off with a damp cloth. These are practical bags that never go out of style. A good everyday bag if you have young children or spend your time with granchildren like I do. I have several Tods nylon bags that I use for everyday. I also have some of their more luxurios leather bags that I love too.
i resisted a long time to buy a tod’s bag… thought it was crazy to pay designer prices for nylon, but bought it at 40% off before eluxury went out of business. i can’t say how much i LOVE the pashmy- it’s so light, is okay in the rain and i’m running around with 2 kids. i tried switching to a new mbmj bag i got, and it was so heavy in contrast. so once it started raining, the tod’s bag came back in rotation.
not crazy about the coated canvas, but a lot of these bags look better in person.
