RareMinerals Renew & Reveal Facial Cleanser

Like I’ve said before, I have strange skin. My skin does not like to accept just any kind of product. And when it comes to facial cleansers, if it’s not the right kind, my whole face just goes down hill from there. Since my skin feels really tight and dry right after cleansing, I hate the squeaky clean feeling some cleansers give. And then if its a heavy cleanser then my face is just a slippery mess 5 minutes later. Then I tried Bare Escentuals RareMinerals™ Renew & Reveal Facial Cleanser. I was a little skeptical at first because it is a powder cleanser that is activated by water. But I use it only in the morning when I shower and that keeps it mess free.

Just like everything else from Bare Escentuals it is free of parabens, sulfates, dyes, and fragrances. This cleanser also doesn’t have soap detergents, harsh abrasives, or skin irritating chemicals so its good for even the most sensitive skin. It gently exfoliates, hydrates, and brightens skin with the RareMinerals Active Soil Complex that is in all of their skincare line.

When I cleanse my face with the cleanser, I like mix a teaspoon of water and teaspooon of cleaner in the palm of my hand. Then I like to just massage it in for about 30 seconds to get the best skincare benefits out of it, and my face feels baby smooth afterward. I can’t use just the cleanser as an exfoliant, but it helps keep my skin smoother in between. I’ve used it before to take off my make up and does a pretty good job. Only when I wear waterproof liner or mascara do I have to go a second time to get the residue off. You can get it at Sephora.com for $26. I’m still looking for my perfect nightly cleanser to take off all my make up with just one cleanse. Do you have a favorite make up cleanser?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant is along the same lines. Usually I wash with another cleanser first to get rid of the heavy stuff, then use the powder cleanser (which does leave a nice finish!).

But I’m really commenting because I’m glad to cyber-meet someone who also doesn’t like Hope in a Jar! I have lots of friends who love it and when I admit that I don’t, I can see them mentally crossing me off their Christmas card list. I’ve tried to love it; I just can’t.

  2. Lol Voxy! Yeah I love Oprah and all, but I think many people were just following her with The Hope In Jar. I still want to give the newer Hopes a chance though and try those, hopefully I’ll have a better reaction to them.

  3. I’ve always been weary of using cleansing oils on my face, but hearing all these raves of the Shu uemera cleansing oil, I think i’m going to cave for it!

  4. I have used the Made from Earth Green Tea Cleanser since I was a teenager, when my mom bought it for me. Over the years I’ve tried many, many other cleansers and I always come back to the one from Made from Earth. So, now it is the only one I ever buy.

You can use it two different ways, either by massaging it over your face and then wiping it off with tissue or a wahcloth or rinsing it off with water. It is gentle on my dry sensitive skin and leaves it feeling soft and moisturized. It also removes my makeup, including eyeliner, mascara (unless it’s waterproof), eye shadow, concealer, and face powder, with no irritation. It is very reasonably priced and a bottle lasts me a long time, usually at least 3 months.

I have recommended it to many people who comment on how great my skin looks and feels. I can’t say enough good things about Made from Earth – so glad I found it!
