Urban Decay Lingerie and Galoshes

I have not found my Holy Grail mascara yet. There are many mascaras that I really like, but they just don’t hit all points for me. I know DiorShow is some of many people’s HG, and I love it too…the first month or two. After that it seems to get really dry and clumpy. The closest to my HG mascara right now is Fresh’s Supernova, but the only problem, for me at least, is that it raccoons very easily. So I decided the way that I could fix this problem was by waterproofing it. I had heard about the Urban Decay Lingerie & Galoshes Double-ended Mascara and liked how it had a primer on one side, and the waterproofer on the other. The consistency was a little thicker then a gel, and I think that really helped to prevent it from making the mascara look dry. Using the waterproofing side really did help my mascara stop from running and didn’t make it look any different then it was before. And I felt that since it’s the waterproofer coated over my regular mascara then it wasn’t going to hurt my lashes like regular waterproof mascara does. I did feel like I got half gypped though, because I do not like the primer side at all. It was so fibrous that it made my mascara look spidery and would make my lashes turn in every which direction. I wish I could buy the waterproofing side by itself, but they don’t sell it that way. The next product I may try to waterproof is Benefit’s She Laq which actually comes with several brushes to waterproof nearly all your make up. The only thing I’m weary of is how water the concoction looks. I’m afraid it would look so drying. You can get Urban Decay Lingerie & Galoshes Double-ended Mascara for $18. What’s your Holy Grail mascara?

  1. Christy, have you tried Boots No. 7 Mascaras from Target? I used to use EXCLUSIVELY Dior mascaras (for 3 years) until I tried ones from Boots. For the lack of a better word, they are AMAZING. All of them curl, thicken, and lengthen beautifully and my lashes stay soft even with 3 coats. No flaking or smudging in sight. I would say they’re 10 times better than Dior and cost 3 times less. TRY IT! I love mine..

  2. No, I haven’t. I see the Boots No. 7 line when I go to Target and hear people rave about it. I’ve been thinking of trying their line for a while now. Think I need to make a trip soon. Thanks!

  3. Still searching for mine, though I was using one from Estee Lauder called Projectionist that was pretty good. I’m afraid they might have discontinued it.

  4. Now that one has been on my list to try. I’m hoping I’ll like that more then the original DiorShow.

  5. I can only wear waterproof and just got married so I literally tried dozens! (Including Diorshow which was easily my least favorite but its so pricey I kept using it!) Honestly, of all the high end and low end ones I tried, I liked Yves Saint Laurent mascaras (plus they smell like roses!) and the best in my opinion, which I wore my wedding day was waterproof Maybelline Collosal Volume Express (in the bright yellow tube) It wasn’t drying, it isn’t goopy or too thin, with a coat or 2 it gives you fairly full, thick, long lashes.

I used She-laq on my wedding day too (I am prone to eyeliner getting gunky on the outer corners of my eyes over time) and it WORKS. Boy does it. Its very thin and watery but you paint it over your makeup. Went like a breeze over my liner and sets dry in a second. Stayed put all night and washed off easy with makeup remover. They give you a mascara wand for it too so you dip the brush in the liquid then light brush it like a final coat over your lashes and it sets perfect. Its not dry at all. I say try it!
