Christian Louboutin Tutulle Clutch

Christian Louboutin just released his bag collection for Resort 2010 and the one that grabbed me was this pink tutu tulle clutch. Did he intend to make this for his Barbie collection? These are like those foo foo pink maribou high heel slippers you wear at home when waiting for your gentlemen caller to arrive. I guess for that scenario you will also need a clutch. I believe there is such a thing as “too cute”. The resort collection is not yet in stores but is arriving shortly, in case you’re interested.

  1. This bag is cute – in a useless sort of way. Better not carry any keys or wear any rings w/ it. Really curious to see how much it costs – just for kicks and giggles.

  2. Kelly, I like the name, ‘Bag Snob’! However, I have to tell you, even the best make mistakes – and you are wrong on this one. I’m a guy that thinks bags of all varieties and manufactures/designers are a waste of money and expose a baffling weakness in any woman who desires them. Unfortunately, my beautiful wife has the ‘bag flaw’ gene. Being her loving husband of 21 years, I’ve mastered the give and take of marriage; I’ll never get the ‘bags’ thing, she’ll never love the Green Bay Packers like I do.

Fast forward to two weeks ago when Liz and I are walking through Neiman Marcus in Chicago. The dreaded bag department can’t be avoided given it’s the first thing on the left and extends half the length of the store. Usually, like 95% of married men shopping with their wives, I’m in a trailing position – but here, adrenaline kicks in and I quicken my step to move into the lead, hoping to express her past the department (even though this strategy has never worked!)

On this day, something that has never happened before – occurred. There’s a little pink bag in a glass case that stops my sprint and draws me to it. I can’t escape it’s attraction. With excitement in my voice, I call to Liz. Tara (the sales lady) takes it out of the cabinet. Liz arrives and immediately goes into a ‘bag trance’ which always involves excessive bag ‘petting’ and in this case something about Carrie Bradshaw.

In conclusion, if you get to see this bag in person, in pink, I have to believe the ‘Bag Snob’ would totally change her opinion. It simply is the coolest bag ever and will reside in a place of honor at our home when Liz receives it as her surprise gift for her birthday and our anniversary later this month. Christian Louboutin’s greatest work of art!
