The late Francisco Moschino was known for his whimsical sexy design in the 1980’s. That being said, this Moschino Cheap & Chic Borsa Tracolla Shoulder Bag doesn’t seem sexy or whimsical to me. The boring color, the dated double adjustable buckles on the flimsy straps, and the sad shape of a tourist travel pouch just doesn’t translate the Moschino spirit to me. While I do understand not everyone is fond of carrying a neon sequined peace sign evening bag, but I do miss the humorous detail and the luxury material one usually finds in the classic Moschino designs.
On another note, my 70 year old dad did find this shoulder bag quite functional and would like to carry one on his next trip to Europe. Banana Republic has a very similar bag – it actually looks better! that i used on recent trips to Europe, can be worn 3 different ways (over shoulder, messenger, etc), for only about $200. Now that I would consider cheap&chic….
