Frugal Snob: Sequoia Paris by Pierre Hardy

Pierre Hardy is known for his drool worthy 4 figure bags and shoes (for Hermes, too!).  Those of us who can’t justify splurging on ourselves right now can grab one of his lower priced line, Sequoia Paris, bag without feeling guilty!  I featured the bags yesterday on NBC’s LxTv so I got to see them firsthand and let me tell you– they are as tailored as the Pierre Hardy line and certainly as stylish. What I like about Sequoia Paris is that he doesn’t sacrifice quality for the lower cost, instead, he trimmed the cost by ridding of costly trimmings and cutting it down to the basics.  For example, the raw edged totes are not lined, which makes them not only lighter but also utilizes the buttery leather to its full extent– yet it’s not without details, the bags also have an interior pouch to use as wallet or make up bag!  Totes start at $309 (for the sumptuous camel suede with sunny yellow handle– so smart to use brightly colored patent handles on suede bags so they don’t get sweat stains on them!) and go up to $540.  At Sequoia-Paris website here.
