It seems like Leighton Meester keeps going out of her way to prove to us that she is not Blair Waldorf. Smart move given that when the show ends she is very likely to be type-cast as an uptight Park Avenue princess if she doesn’t act proactively now. Meester’s hair and makeup look gorgeous in the photo above, it’s really too bad about her unfortunate dress, luckily she somewhat redeems herself with her Proenza Schouler Patent leather platform pumps ($497.50). I’m liking the contrasting colors on the platform and on the front of the pump, I just don’t like the way the heel is curved outwards. This is the kind of shoe that would work best with opaque black tights, bold jewelry, and a simple dress. They’re on sale now for 50% off which makes them a pretty good deal, though I have to say the only Proenza Schouler shoes I own are uncomfortable to the point of my not being able to wear them, so buy with caution!
Shoes are hot. I agree about the dress. Her recent “music-promotion” looks have been borderline terrible.
