Trussardi 1911 Deer Skin Studded Bag

The minute I arrived in Milan I went shopping and lunching with my friend Anji Aron (belated Happy Birthday darling!)– long time Milano resident and chic social girl about town.  She took me to Trussardi’s flagship boutique near Duomo (go there for lunch, delish!) and my jet lag melted away the minute I stepped in the store!  There were so many beautiful bags, luggage, and accessories– a treasure trove for a bag lover like me!  Trussardi is a favorite of Italian socialites and one of Italy’s best kept secrets– the hundred year old brand started as luxury leather glove makers in 1911, expanding to bags and luggage in 1973.  In 2008 Milan Vukmirovic (co-founder of Colette, the chic concept store in Paris) was named creative director (interestingly, Nicholas Ghesquiere was creative director at Trussardi for 2 seasons in 1997, followed by American Jeremy Scott!) and he has since built a loyal following in Europe and Asia with finely crafted bags by Italian artisans and jet set worthy luggage.  As much as it is known overseas, however, the brand is little known in America.  Such a pity but I aim to make Trussardi a household name in the US, too!  I’m just so enamored with the brand!  Not only does it have a rich heritage & legacy, but due to the leadership of Beatrice Trussardi (she took over as CEO after the death of her father and brother who both died in car accidents within a span of 4 years)– it also has a very young street vibe.  I got a bag similar to the one above (jump for pictures!) which is on the trendy side with the studs and cool long chain strap but also very functional as the chain is detachable and adjustable, making it a great piece to travel with!  I love the rich deer skin used on most of its bags, incredibly luxurious and very sturdy, you can throw Trussardi’s bags around and not worry it will fall apart!  I am not sure where to buy it in the US but online it’s at– Get Trussardi Deer Skin Studded Bag here $1,276.56

The studs on my Trussardi bag are rounded and on fringes of leather!  Generally I am not a fringe girl but this was too cool to pass up– the fringes are perfectly lined up and not discernible as fringes until you move around. A very fun and youthful bag/clutch–

Love this chain, so chic and lightweight.  I wear it as a cross body when shopping or long on the shoulder during the day.  At night I tuck in my chain and voila– instant clutch!  The interior is alsovery organized with multiple compartments and pockets.  This is a Chanel bag for downtown urbanites!

  1. So nice to see Trussardi reviewed here Tina. I have been thinking about getting a Trussardi manbag for a couple of years now…I’m always getting closer to taking the plunge. They have a great online store for women and men on their website and they do ship to USA. I would love to walk into a Trussardi flagship store – I will have to make an overseas trip!!!

  2. That bag is fantastic! I love pieces that are fairly minimal yet somehow manage to be unique. This bad is right up my alley – at least when I’m not in work clothes.
