Jennifer Aniston’s Wardrobe: The Bounty Hunter

While her latest movie co-starring rumored beau Gerard Butler might not have been met with box office acclaim, the same can’t be said for Jennifer Aniston’s multiple European premiere ensembles. Aniston donned a trio of terrific Valentino outfits–two couture, one ready-to-wear–for her recent red carpet moments, topping them off with a showstopper of a gown in the form of Christian Lacroix Haute Couture at, fittingly enough, her Paris premiere.

Seeing as how Aniston’s new fragrance “Lola Vie” is coming out in a few months, it looks like she’s finally jumped on the branding/endorsement bandwagon. Would she ever consider fronting a Valentino ad campaign? She–or at least her stylist–certainly seems to have a penchant for the Italian label now designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. At the London premiere she wore a Fall 2009 silver embroidered Haute Couture dress that she paired nicely with a fitted tuxedo jacket and metallic Jimmy Choos. It’s a modern take on working couture–something Aniston does with ease. Two weeks later she donned another similar hued Valentino Haute Couture number–both, to no surprise, came from the same collection–which at the Berlin premiere. This time she went full-on glamour, keeping her look monotone and letting the fabric folds and twists do all the talking. It’s not an easy look to pull off because your body can’t have any flaws to wear a dress that’s not only second-skin, but twisted and draped on top of that. If anyone looks fabulous in a neutral, it’s Aniston.

In Madrid, Aniston wore a Valentino strapless embroidered leather placket dress from the upcoming Fall 2010 that was eerily reminiscent of a watered-down Balmain. It’s not my favorite look on her–the bondage sandals seem heavy, the dress a little ill-fitted–but the overall look kept to her premiere of above-the-knee and strapless. Aniston wears color incredibly well and should take advantage of that God-given gift. Case in point: Lacroix. Despite all the critical naysayers, I think the sorbet-hued Lacroix Haute Couture gown she donned to the Paris premiere is divine. First off, I love that she kept her shoe simple with a plain black slingback. It’s almost a risk to be so pared-down (most women would’ve chosen something jeweled for sure) so you know she’s got some real innate style chops. As for the dress? The reason it may not have photographed well could be because it clashed with the red carpet and the red step-and-repeat. Shown here against concrete hues, the color pops and is sharp as anything. It’s a fabulous executive of fabric manipulation complete with Lacroix wit and whimsy (note the cascade of tulle down the front). Aniston’s survived yet another premiere month with style and grace; here’s hoping her next movie fares as well.

  1. Sorry, America I’m always wondering who was the first who told you, that sweetheart Janifer is stylish? You may love Janifer’s style, but,I guess, your love is blind.
