The style quotient at last week’s Coachella music festival got kicked up a notch or three thanks in no small part to the gaggle of fashion-savvy starlets that made their presence known. Take Kate Bosworth for example: the actress sported a utilitarian Mulberry Leah shoulder bag while out and about at the festival. Surely to keep her hands free, the school bag style carryall features buckle pockets and a soft, draped shape–perfect complements to her crocheted Topshop dress. Industrial bolt-style eyelets and a hanging “Lucky Penny” charm add some unique style to the bag (also available in pink and brown) while the one solid leather handle with metal ring detail ensures a no-slip shoulder grip. And as with all large gatherings, easy access is key–note the two external pockets with drawstring closure ideal for Blackberry and, what else, cigarettes.

A few days later, Bosworth was spotted color and fabric coordinating her outfits to her bag while at Coachella. Clad in a white eyelet top and denim skirt, she swung over her shoulder another Mulberry–this time the Denim Mini Messenger. Isn’t it adorable? What she managed to fit in the bag is another question, but I do appreciate the quilted denim/light wash aesthetic topped with a smooth saddle leather strap. Long strap bags are all the rage right now. This one, with its adjustable strap, features a postman’s lock closure, Mulberry signature “Tree” fabric lined interior and scalloped “Cookie” cut edges. What’s more, it’s reasonable price ensures a diva of any age will be able to sport this darling of a bag without breaking the bank.

Mulberry Leah bag $895 & Denim Mini Messenger $250, available at Mulberry stores and www.mulberry.com
