Valentino Summer Flower Tote

Woah!! This is beyond regular ugly, it is extra special hideous. Pretty much the worst money ever spent, $2690 for Rose Parade trash. There is no redemption in any way, I mean, how can you go so wrong with flowers, which are inherently beautiful? I can think of a thousand ways to make a bag look at least cute with flower appliques but this is just so bad. I hate to be so harsh on Valentino because they have such gorgeous ready to wear but I have to call it as I see it and this one is for the compost pile. At Saks Fifth Avenueicon, for a whopping $2690 (you even get polyester lining for that price!).

  1. When you tweeted this and I clicked through, I actually gasped at the sight of this monstrosity. Compost pile is dead on accurate metaphor.

  2. “Woah!! This is beyond regular ugly, it is extra special hideous”

…took the words right out of my mouth! though makes for good laugh!

  3. I like the bag, but there was a defnite misstep. The flowers should have been all one color-black. While I don’t care for black handbags, this one would benefit from being one color.

I think that with a little tweaking all bags can be redeemed.

  4. I don’t know if it’s just me but when I look at it all I can think of is Eliza Doolittle before her transformation!

  5. I don’t like Valentino handbags. They have more misses than hits and should stick to apparel. Their bags are tryhard bags that are horrible. This bag, as I see it in the image, isn’t any different to what I see at my local markets. It oozes the same level of retail desperation.

  6. I usually love Valentino floral bags, but this one begs the question, “what were they thinking?” Way too many colors. Maybe they were looking for a way to use all those leftover scraps of leather? Ew.

  7. If the flowers were all bright spring colors and the bag not black as a background, or if all of it was black ( or b/w) I’d love it!
