Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2011

DvF’s resort show invitation–a faux “Do Not Disturb” hotel door sign that read “Privacy Please”–set the precedent for her collection. Who’s this girl? “She’s always ready to fly at any time,” the designer said–much like herself, no? Titled “La Petite Valise,” the strong lineup was chock full of comfortable, breezy, throw-on-and-go pieces that reinforce the strongest assets of the DVF brand. Younger and sportier than in seasons past, the classic wrap dress was refashioned as a nifty romper, while striped and polka-dot swimwear meshed stylishly with bold prints splashed across men’s wear shirts and boxer shorts.
