Nancy Gonzalez to Launch Men’s Bag Line

Dreams do come true! In all the years I’ve known Santiago Gonzalez, I’ve always asked for a man bag that I could carry with pride. Finally, male Bag Snobs rejoice! Santiago is debuting a dedicated men’s range this holiday season–made of all-crocodile, no less–that he has named after himself (he is, after all, the present of the women’s luxury handbag brand and son of its namesake founder). It makes sense that the bags aren’t called “Nancy Gonzalez Man” or “Man by Nancy Gonzalez.” With Santiago’s name affixed on the label, it’s a reassurance that this is, indeed, a piece crafted by a man for a man.

The collection will be carried exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus–both stores who enjoy a robust business with Nancy Gonzalez–and consist of a whopping 30+ styles of bags and leather goods, including overnight, weekend and duffel bags as well as travel kits, a watch roll, belts and an array of wallets. The collection starts at $125 for a money clip and maxes out at $6,450 for the larger travel bags. What I’ve always appreciated about the Nancy Gonzalez brand is its understated elegance; the same will be replicated with the men’s line. Exotic skins and clean lines will continue to coexist alongside pops of color (in this case, orange and wine).
