Gucci Launches Baby & Children’s Clothing Lines

What can I say? I’m a sucker for pint-sized anything–particularly when it comes to fashion. Stylish mothers, rejoice! Gucci has just released the first images of its forthcoming venture into formal clothing collections for babies and children launching for Spring 2011. Designed by brand creative director Frida Giannini, they’re essentially the best-of Gucci pieces shrunken down to oh-so-cute proportions. Babies (from 0 to 24 months) and children (from 2 to 8 years old) will have their choice of clothes and shoes, as well as a selection of accessories: scarves ties, belts, jewelry and sunglasses.

Naturally, Gucci’s iconic details like the horse bit and web are infused throughout, as is the double G monogram, the Gucci logo and the Flora print. While the baby collection uses the classic colors of blue and pink, with powder pink, optical white, dark blue, and red and green inserts, the children’s collection combines more classic pieces, such as the suede trench and leather biker jacket, with contemporary accents like leggings for girls and baggy shorts for boys. Love the teddy bear logo that’s been remade into a charm for silver bracelets and necklaces but also used as a detail on the ties!

  1. This is great news!! I was hoping that Gucci might launch a baby and children’s clothing collection like D & G and Burberry. So far I as can see from the pictures the designs look lovely. Cannot wait to see more!

  2. These are very stylish! I kind of almost think they might be too stylish for children’s clothing though!
