J.Lo’s Jimmy Choo Tatum Fringe Shoulder Bag

At this point I think it’s safe to say that fringe isn’t a trend, but an accepted staple embellishment. About a year and a half ago I bought this Hayden-Harnett tote and this flap bag (both in black), and I remember thinking god I hope the fringe doesn’t makes these look dated in a few months. Now, all this time later, not only aren’t they outdated, but Jimmy Choo has a bag that kind of looks like a combo of the two! The Jimmy Choo Tatum Fringe Shoulder Bag that J. Lo is sporting retails for $2,695 (or about 5 times the price I paid for my two HH bags combined!), and is chic and fun. The combo of the fringe and the over-the-knee boots may be a bit over-the-top, but hey, it’s J.Lo and even at 41 she makes it work!

What do you think about fringe? Do you agree that it’s a trend that’s here to stay?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. Blech. Fringe is so not my scene but I will say that your HH eucalyptus tote is the best fringe-y bag I’ve seen!

  2. I see it as more of a commonly re-occuring trend. I am also not a fringe lover but expect that it will be on-trend at least as many summers as it will be clearly off-trend. Of course, in the country music world, it’s a classic.

  3. I have never liked fringe. It’s a little to Native American/hippie/bohemian for me.

Besides, some of the bags look like snuffaluffagus.

  4. Jimmy Choo had quite a few styles with fringe out last year, and most of them ended up going on sale. If you look at what’s in the store for fall, you’ll see they’ve gone back to more classic looking styles. Some of the new bags look a little like Hermes. Fringe did not sell well on the Eastn Coast. I for one, did not invest in any!
