Marc Jacobs Limited Edition Veronica Bag

As if being creative director of Louis Vuitton wasn’t large enough of a French imprint, Marc Jacobs’ presence in the City of Lights has just gotten that much bigger. The reason? Jacobs will, in September, open his first shop-in-shop dedicated exclusively to his collection accessories at Galeries Lafayette (when it opens, it will offer offer Europe’s largest selection the American designer’s accessories). To herald the momentous arrival this fall, the famed Parisian department store will open a Marc Jacobs pop-up shop on its first floor from July 5 to August 7. What’s more, Jacobs has fashioned an exclusive version of its elegant Veronica handbag in a decadent taupe alligator to commemorate the unveiling. Yes, it’s pricy. Yes, it’s out of reach for 99% of the world’s population. But, nevertheless, it’s sure to sell. Why? For one, it’s a timeless shape, and second, it’s Marc Jacobs, who’s a fashion rock star. But all kidding aside, the bag seems to warrant its price tag. This is a significant bag folks; just look at how big and roomy it is. Plus it’s got a built in metal lock to keep what I can only assume are your very-valuable valuables secure. Because honestly, when you’re toting around a bag worth $15,000, I can’t begin to imagine what’s inside!

$14,800, available at Galeries Lafayette in Paris

  1. Love the shape and silhouette. I am a HUGE Marc Jacobs fan. However, I have never really been a fan of alligator skin handbags. I like the smoothness of leather.
