Volume is big right now! Whether worn with natural texture or set in a red carpet wave, volumous hair is a big fashion trend right now. No matter which style you pick make sure the hair is top condition. This is important not only to make sure hair looks healthy but also when hair is healthy and in top condition it holds its volume and texture longer. (Jump for more!)

Start with a volume building shampoo. Look for one with strengthening and body building proteins like Organic Burdock, Red Sage, Horsetail and Sprouted Soy. These ingredients can penetrate the hair fiber and improve the condition of the hair by strengthening it and also give the hair a crisper texture that is able to get and hold volume longer throughout the day. This is especially important in achieving volume in fine, limp hair.

The red carpet volume look reflects that old Hollywood movie star look. Movie stars that have been wearing this look are Rachel McAdams, Julia Roberts and Sarah Jessica Parker. The look is medium length to long, smooth controlled waved with a low side part. Let hair fall right at the eyebrow or over one eye. Glossy shiny finish and hair should be in excellent condition. To get this look let hair air dry or blow dry with a strengthening and smoothing hair grooming product containing Organic Whortleberry, Sugar Cane and Sugar Maple to help create texture and volume.

If blow drying hair, apply the volume building product and then start to blow-dry the head working section by section. Over-direct each section with your brush to build volume at the root. Mist additional product at the root of each section if need and when that section is dry then cool the section with the cool shot on your blow drier. This will help lock in the volume you just created at the root. Then after dry create dry-set curls with a curling iron or hot rollers and smooth thru with a boar bristle brush to create smooth waves.

A natural texture volume look is also on trend today. Movie stars wearing this look are Cameron Diaz, Gisele Bundchen, Keri Washington and Blake Lively. The look is long and full with a large loose curl or slight bend to show movement. Never flat ironed and never pin straight. The part here can be off center or a deep side part. No center part or the hair will look retro instead of modern. This works with any hair color trend but the hair must have length to work this trend. Start with clean or second day dry hair. Mist on a dry shampoo with Ku Shen, Bergamot and Chinese Foxglove for shine and volume. Distribute the product throughout your wet hair concentrating at the root. Next, click sections up in jaw clips and let partially dry while you apply your makeup. Roots will start to dry in an upward position. This will help create move uneven bend and movement in the hair. Remove clips after a couple of minutes. To get that fabulous rumpled textured look for a dry styling crème product that contains Organic Sugar Cane Granules to create that from the beach texture but without the damage. Also look for body building proteins Sprouted Soy, Chinese Orchid and Dong Quai.
