Blessed with beauty genes that are clearly envied the world over, Alicia Keys has only gotten more gorgeous as she nears her due date. Can you believe this Grammy Award winner is about to have her first baby any day now? Yet she managed to look the best she’s ever looked earlier this week when she arrived at the 7th Annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball event in Manhattan clad in, what else, Dolce & Gabbana. The grey lace strapless gown she donned is from the design duo’s fall collection (in stores now) and while a gathered waist generally adds pounds to the midsection, Keys looks wonderfully contoured and figure-flattering in this cut. I like that she kept her jewelry to a minimum–note the slim diamond bracelets and almost inconspicuous headpiece–and wore her hair in a chignon. The fan-like pattern of the lace is not only an elegant approach for red carpet, but the feminine traits are counterbalanced marvelously by the more masculine grey color of the dress. All in all, a best dressed of the week–if not year.
