John Galliano’s may have recalled a far flung island in the South Pacific, but his Dior shoes were clearly not made for beach walkin’. Festooned with feathers, tied with grosgrain ribbon and layered with sweatshirt-like tubing, the heels certainly made an impact–with their six inch heels, one would hope that’s the least they’d do! All in all, the shoes were stunning creations and certainly a step up from the footwear of past seasons. The burst of colors in the ready-to-wear undoubtedly inspired the rich hues this time around; the dazzling composition of tones would make even an artist dizzy. My favorite? The turquoise stiletto with grosgrain ankle ties in that palm tree print. The feathered eye candy will also make quite the statement at your next cocktail party; these are clearly shoes that scream, “hey sailor!” Going the more subtle route? Then opt for the chalk colored stiletto bootie with side buckles. Milkmaid they are not.
