Lanvin x H&M: A First Look!

This collection will be nothing short of epic. To create some buzz–as if there wasn’t already enough of that in the blogosphere–Lanvin today released one ad image from its upcoming Lanvin x H&M line designed by Alber Elbaz. The full line will be unveiled November 2 via a short film and the collection will hit stores in the U.S. on November 20 (in Las Vegas, where H&M is opening what will be its largest flagship worldwide, it will debut one day early). But back to the ad: David Sims shot the campaign, which stars, from left to right in the ad, Hannelore Knuts, Jane Schmitt, Tati Collitar, and Natasha Poly. What’s most significant of note here is that the Lanvin silhouettes seen here date back four to five seasons–and include Fall 2008, Spring 2009 and Pre-Fall 2009. It’s nice to know that Alber went back into Lanvin’s archives and reinterpreted classic shapes for today’s woman. What you’ll also notice in the ad is Schmitt, who’s noticeably older than the other three models. Lanvin, after all, has always been a house that values the mother-daughter relationship. As for you accessory fiends, be happy to know that the jewelry and sunglasses you see here will all be for sale at H&M! Now I just wish they had shown the shoes too!
