Last season’s tiger’s fang-shaped necklaces have become next season’s housefly. Elie Top, Lanvin’s creative head when it comes to all things bijoux, has focused on a smaller object upon which to fantasize. The resulting brooches, necklaces and bracelets can verge on creepy at times–particularly for those with a fear of insects–but they’re nevertheless jeweled and embellished to within an inch of their lives. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Some of the pieces have a definite antique quality to them; this collection is less likely to tread on the coattail of trend. The necklace that features metal shaped like a leaf, with a worm crawling through the middle, is of particular note.
