Brogues have never been more popular for women, and as Rihanna illustrates, they can be dressed up or down. The songstress has been sporting Miu Miu’s fall collection studded lace-ups while out and about in New York City. The shoes, with their sparkle, add that touch of femininity to an otherwise masculine shoe. I love the shoes when worn with a fitted cropped pant suit; it’s both understand yet highly elegant–a very “take me seriously” moment. These lace-ups are also a nice break from the six-inch heels that, let’s face it, take their toll on the feet. Ultra-feminine girls won’t find these shoes attractive at all; they’re for true style chameleons that transition seamlessly between Southern Belle and rulers of the world.
