The 44th Annual Country Music Awards were last night, and aside from everyone wanting to see Gwyneth Paltrow singing live, the most important thing about the evening was fashion. While browsing through the photos, I was equally blown away and grossed out, both entertaining. Though I won’t discuss the looks that grossed me out, because I try to keep my mean comments in my head (and frankly do you really want to see Carrot Top on Couture Snob? Oops! That wasn’t in my head.), here are my top three looks of the evening.

Before dazzling the crowd with her vocals, Gwyneth was on the red carpet dazzling people in her Atelier Versace Fall 2010 gown. One shoulder, cut-out detail and thigh-high slit? Could she get any sexier? Though these three dress details combined may sound like the wearer is trying too hard, this dress comes off and elegant and sexy, without trying too hard. Thus the basis of Versace’s appeal. Oh, and the fact that Gwyneth has an amazing body to pull this off.

Carrie Underwood co-hosted the show, and though some of her costume changes during the presentation were questionable, there is no doubt that she looked stunning on the red carpet. This young country great has grown up before our eyes- fashion-wise of course. Carrie is normally all about sparkly ballgowns, and here she wears a stunning Talbot Runhof Fall 2010 gown. The ruffles are still girlie and true to Carrie, but it’s slightly more dramatic than the light colors we’re used to seeing on her.

Leighton Meester attended the awards because of her new film with Gwyneth, “Country Strong.” The actress/singer stood out to me at these awards wearing Emilio Pucci Spring 2010. The high-low print dress looks like it should come with its own wind machine. The color is beautiful against Leighton’s skin and hair color and she’s killing it with her red carpet pose. Her shoes are some zexy (yes, with a z) Jimmy Choo stunners.

Three very different looks. Who was your favorite?
