Looking for the ultimate splurge this Christmas? Look no further than the Balenciaga Croc City Classic. Priced for a super-snob at $17,500.00, this is more like an art purchase than a bag buy.
Balenciaga took its City Classic bag and made it out of crocodile leather in a luscious soft lavender color. Flawlessly executed, it is sexy, understated and is just about as luxurious as you can get.
Real skin pieces are always up there on the price scale, but $17,500 was shocking. I immediately thought of how many outfits I could put together at that price tag. I thought of all the glorious Louboutin pumps or McQueen clutches I could snag with that kind of moolah, or all the thousands of bottles of delicious gold-flakes vodka that could be stocked in my bar. Or how about that car I want. I mean, the possibilities are endless.
Did I mention it’s $17,500.00?
However, if you’re a croc freak and a lavender lover and happen to have an extra 17K laying around the house, (who doesn’t? Oh yea, me…. Damnit) then snag this snob-tastic piece at Barneys.
For that price, the bag should at least have hardwear that is made from precious metals, like gold, not that crappy brass the studs and other details look they are. I am not a big fan of the colour and can think of at least a thousand better ways to spend 17,000 than to buy that bag. The bag would not look so bad in black, though.

Haha Ashley- Agreed! And totally agree with the Anonymous comment that the hardware should be gold. The price tag is so high- it should be 100% luxury.
No Way! for $17,500 I’d put a down payment on a condo in FL and hang out with the crocs all the time haha.
