Givenchy Embossed Nightingale: Snob or Slob?

The Nightingale was the first bag from Givenchy that gave me pangs of longing and after almost four years, I still have a soft place in my heart for it.  There have been slight changes throughout the years (some not so welcome) but the appeal of the Nightingale remains steady with the fashion forward crowd.  The latest, an embossed version, is going to elicit some strong reaction.  I can’t say I like it but I don’t hate it– it just reminds me of body parts that should not be exposed.  And while we’re complaining, I just want to say I wish they’d go back to using exotic skin for the handles like they did when they first launched this bag.  The contrast between leather and exotic skin was so much more luxurious (it wasn’t as expensive, either.  Go figure, you now pay more for less)!
What do you think of this?   Snob or Slob?

  1. I love the The Nightingale… but this one looks a little stiff.

I have been wanting a Nightingale since it came out, but, alas, my teacher salary does not allow for it. I am not a fan of black handbags, but I like this one because of the different textures.

    I say…SNOB!

  3. How about a snob that is a bit of a slob?
