The Holidays are my favorite time of the year. I have no shame in saying I am the person that has 90% of her Christmas decorations up mid-November, and the moment eggnog hits the store’s shelves (November 1, in case you were wondering) it is in my refrigerator. Also, the second the temperature drops below 80 degrees: holiday music is playing everywhere. Okay, I get it. What about Thanksgiving? Well I love red and gold and silver so much more than yellow and orange, so sue me. Plus, I don’t put up decorations outside of the house yet. I don’t want people to think I’m a complete loser.

When it comes to dressing for a holiday party, there are many things to consider. For me, those things are black, silver, sparkly, red and fun. DKNY gives us some fabulous options. First the beaded cotton-blend dress is perfect for anytime of the year, and at $425, you should wear it year-round. Cover it with a sassy jacket and some heels and it’s perfect for a work holiday party since it’s not too far out, but still perfect for the season. Available at Net-a-Porter

A flirty tiered skirt should always been in your closet, and DKNY’s spotted net one is just what the holidays ordered. Wear this with opaque tights, a sweater tank and a blazer for a day at the office and spice it up with sexy heels and a shimmering top for a night out. Available at Net-a-Porter

So you might be thinking “Gah! Red is so cheesy for a holiday party.” And to that, I say suck it. Sometimes it is perfectly fine to be cheesy, and with a sweetheart neckline twill dress like this, cheese it up. The peplum at the waist and a bow detail give this dress a fun and flirty edge. There is nothing cheesy about it. Well, unless you wear white and red striped thigh highs with a red bow on the front with white patent leather pumps and a Santa hat with it. That’s cheesy. No. Not cheesy. Stupid. Just- don’t. Also available at Net-a-Porter
