Diane von Furstenberg Marlene Evening Bag: Slob or Snob?

dvf_marlene_evening_bag.jpg

I am on the fence about this one. I can’t help but think it slightly resembles something that might strut out of Guess accompanied by an Ed Hardy T shirt and some sweet ripped jeans. Albeit, less tacky and not so obvious, but there’s something a little-leather mini dress and pink lips- about this and not in a couture way.

Maybe it’s the large buckle on front of the Diane von Furstenberg Marlene Evening Bag, or the feathers that send me over the edge. I keep trying to ignore it, but I can’t shake the over all feeling. There are a lot of different textures going on here with the leather, feathers, and snakeskin that I think it’s just too much for me. Maybe it’s the pink color, a little less wild and I could stomach it.

I want to like this bag, but something is stopping me. What do you guys think?

  1. It’s probably the eyes and tongue sticking out (seriously, you don’t even have to look closely to see the face on this bag) that weirding you out.

  2. Slob, although the Marlene in the black/grey muted colors from seasons past without the feathers is actually quite cute.

  3. Slob. If you removed the feathers, studs on the handle, big round bauble things and made it one colour (or two that complemented) then this bag could work. Definately not an evening bag, unless this is an evening at the pub for a seriously trashy someone.
