Party-ready hairstyles with all the flash and none of the fuss

-Philip Pelusi

We know the holiday season is fun and festive, yet also demanding and hectic. And through it all, circumstances call for us to look our best. A party here, a gathering there; seeing family, friends – both old and new, etc. Here are a few party-ready, glam-ready hairstyles that I know you can do with little effort… yet, all of the elegance.

I see short, textured hair with a decorative clip as a perfect, polished, holiday look. Go straight from work to an office party or drinks. The trick is to aim for a “pieced out” look with lots of separation. Use a flexible, grooming paste to provide separation. Rub a little between your hands and use your fingers to piece out the ends of your hair. Add in a festive clip with rhinestones, pearls, or feathers to make it pop! Another fashion-forward style I recommend is loose, sexy, hollywood waves. Before heading off to work, mist your hair with a flexible, holding hairspray. Pretend you are going to pull your hair back into a ponytail; but instead, twist it until it spirals toward the scalp. Gather your hair into a loose bun and secure it with hairpins. At day’s end, simply undo the hairpins and scrunch a little body-building, texturizing paste into your hair, and you’re ready to party.

A modern chignon is also on trend. My take here is that hair styles better when not freshly shampooed. Use a dry shampoo, like Tela Beauty Organics Dri, in the morning and brush it through your hair. Next, pull your hair off your face and gather into a low ponytail. At the end of your work day, mist the ponytail with the same dry shampoo, and dry-scrunch it through your hair for texture. Work the ponytail into a low bun and secure it with hairpins. Be sure to leave a few pieces sticking out here and there! Finally, you can get my Venexianna’s NYC Fashion Show crimp-your-style look! Pull your hair into a ponytail and pull out a veil of hair along the front of your hairline, ending at the top of your ears. Crimp-iron the veiled area, misting as you go with a product designed to protect your hair and hold the crimped texture. P2 Purely Professional RefresHair does the trick. Twist your ponytail down to create a bun. Secure the bun with hairpins and pull a few pieces of the crimped veil for a messy, sexy style.
