Dolce & Gabbana Denim And Nappa Top Handle: I Can’t Stop Staring

Dolce_gabbana_denim_nappa_top_handle_2.jpgDolce_gabbana_denim_nappa_top_handle_1.jpg

How hilarious is this bag? It makes me smile every time I look at it. I’m not even concerned with the fact that it’s $1225.50. It’s hysterical.

Let’s get one thing straight; I am terrible at sewing. I don’t have the patience or the attention to detail that is required to successfully construct something that would actually stay on my body. That being said, I am fairly confident that I could at least sew a pair of jeans together. Granted, it wouldn’t be the finest stitching nor would the jeans be Dolce & Gabbana denim, but I think I could come up with something that resembled this, and for a lot less money.

Unless while I’m wearing the denim and nappa top handlebag – it somehow lifts my behind and shapes my thighs, I think I’m going to leave my jeans right where they are (in my closet because I’ve eaten too many holiday treats to want to put them on lately).

If jeans purse is your thing, pick it up at Luisaviaroma for $1225.50.

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. This reminds me of a denim bag that my babysitter used to carry around. I’m pretty sure that one cost like $10 at K-Mart.

  2. Am speechless…

Levi Strauss invented denim for miners and people panning for gold because it was durable and economical. So basically, they are workwear. To pay this much money for what is basically a $20 flea market handbag is completely ludicrous. And, I think that the flea market has better bags. A DIY project gone horrible wrong.

  3. Unbelievable!!! Did they find a guy on a tractor, knock him out, and steal his pants to make this? You know it’s going to smell like chew, sweat, and machinery grease. I can just take a day trip out to the country and make this myself.

  4. The price is re-damn-diculous, but I must say, it is a fresher approach to the jeans-turned-bag idea. I get tired of seeing it done the same way every time.

  5. nooooooooooooooooooo….this is the worst craft-fair looking item…I would know, I have been sewing/creating bags for “select” (art)fairs for 10 years. Is this a joke?

  6. When I was in high school, I made a bag out of a pair of jeans. That was a looong time ago. I can’t imagine spending over $1,000 for this.

  7. I’m sorry, but this is the ugliest bag I’ve ever seen. In my entire life. I can’t even believe D&G would THINK of putting it out there.

But, in my opinion, any bag made of denim deserves to cost about $10, no matter WHAT logo is splashed all over it.
