New StriVectin-SD for Sensitive Skin

I’m all about multi-tasking products, especially given how heavy my handbags tend to get, but some products kind of scare me – StriVectin used to be one of them. The original was designed as a stretch mark cream, but the buzz around it was that apply it to your face and it’s just “like” Botox. Stretch mark cream on my face?? Um, no thank you – I worry about breaking out enough as is. Plus, until I’m actually considering Botox (hopefully never!) I don’t plan on trying anything harsh on my skin because I’ve never believed in the “get worse to get better” strategy. Now that StriVectin, after many clinical trials on sensitive skin and even some skin biopsies, launched StriVectin-SD for Sensitive Skin, I may give them a whirl after all. The newbie product has the same collagen-boosting and age-fighting properties as the original, but it doesn’t have oils, fragrance, artificial colors, and dyes all of which tend to irritate sensitive-skin. There are so many products out there that say they’re for sensitive skin, it’s hard to know which to trust so it’s always a relief when I come across ones backed by lots of testing (love you Dermalogica!).

Have you used the original StriVectin? Will you try the new one?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. I use Stri-Vectin regularly. I’ve used it for about 6 months now, and it’s gotten rid of my fine lines, evened skin tone and texture, and helped my skin feel more firm and resilient overall. I’m 31 and people still think I’m 23-25, and I think it’s partly because of this product – probably mostly due to my obsessive use of sunblock, though. 🙂

  2. Awesome! I’ve heard only good things about the new SD so am thinking once my Lancome regimen runs out I’m gonna try it too:)

  3. Stri-Vectin SD has presented itself as a solution for women with Sensitive Skin, but this product is full of ingredients that are harmful, many which are listed on David Suzuki’s “dirty dozen” cosmetic chemicals to avoid. For example, the seventh ingredient in StriVectin-SD, Cyclopentasiloxane is a suspected endocrine disruptor and reproductive toxicant. Other ingredients include BHT which may cause cancer and Urea which slowly releases small amounts of formaldehyde.

StriVectin may not irritate the skin on contact, but it could do some damage in the long term.

  4. Wow! Skinterra.com has a great deal on StriVectin products. I purchased a couple of the StriVectin skin care products. While checking out I got 25% off by entering the Promo Code: SVN25. I also received some free samples with free shipping.

  5. Great deal! I purchased some Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Pads at Skinterra.com. This product improved my acne, faded my discoloration and definitely smoothed the texture of my skin. While checking out I used the promo code: FEB20 and saved 20% on my order. Plus with my purchase I received a free Dr. Dennis Gross travel size All-in-One Cleanser, free samples and free shipping since my order was over $50. My package arrived in 2 days. I would shop at Skinterra again.
