Minka Kelly x Louis Vuitton Edun Bag

To most of America, actress Minka Kelly is best known as Derek Jeter’s main squeeze and a Leighton Meester lookalike. Criss-crossing the country to promote “The Roommate,” her latest movie, Kelly is travelling in style. Spotted recently at LAX, Minka was carrying Louis Vuitton’s limited edition debossed monogram Révélation brown leather Keepall 45. This bag, designed in collaboration with Ali Hewson and Edun, was made in extremely small quantities–it’s priced at $4,990–so I’m kind of surprised to see Minka with it (who knew she was such a fan?). The inside of the bag carries the inscription “Every journey began in Africa.” While the bag features the iconic monogram print on the exterior, it’s at least subtle in the fact that it’s tone-on-tone and not constrasting. It’s definitely a collector’s item for the diehard Vuitton fan. To help offset the astronomical price, Vuitton is donating 100% of proceeds to Technoserve in Africa for the Conservation Cotton Initiative (in Uganda) and to The Chernobyl Children International.

  1. Awww, love Minka from “Friday Night Lights,” which is one of my very favorite television shows of all time. Such a gorgeous woman and I don’t necessarily hate this bag. At least the monogram fades into the background.
