Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giola: Sea Breeze

I am extremely particular about fragrance, as most just irritate me after an hour. I like light, mild, and unimposing. Giorgio Armani‘s Acqua di Giola, meaning “Water of Joy,” is most definitely light and balmy. Inspired by Pantelleria, a Sicilian island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea that’s been dubbed “paradise,” the scent evokes beaches in the summertime. Floral but not overpowering, infused with softly scented flowers like jasmine and peony, it’s also extremely sweet. It reminds me of a mojito – mint, citrus, and maybe cucumber. As delicious as it smells! I’ve had this on for most of the day, and I love how it fades into just a hint of scent. (Plus, I never spray too much. Please, for the courtesy of those around you, never more than two sprays!) The sweetness wears off after the initial waft, and you are left with images of sipping tropical cocktails on an Italian beach – not bad for a quick mist. I normally give away the perfume samples I receive but this one I am keeping =) At Sephora for $80 (for 3.4 oz).
