First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 Restore Cream

Ever since they came-out with their extensive skincare and color range, there have been fewer and fewer “affordable” lines at Sephora, one of the last remaining ones however is a favorite…First Aid Beauty. FAB recently came-out with a 5-in-1 Restore Cream ($36) that is the least expensive option of its kind at the Sephora near my apartment and it works fabulously. Its got the perfect level of hydration for this time of year when my skin is in between dry winter skin and oily summer skin. It’s meant for nighttime (and this one is meant for day), but I’ve been using it by day on occasion just because it absorbs into my skin so quickly (it’s just unfortunate that only the day cream has SPF). If you’re wondering what makes it a 5-in-1 cream, it’s designed to:

  1. reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  2. improve radiance
  3. correct uneven skin tone
  4. nourish and moisturize
  5. combat free radicals

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. While this moisturizer may seem inexpensive compared to other options at Sephora, if you peek at the ingredient list (it’s listed on Sephora’s website) you may be surprised to see that it doesn’t really measure up as a “5-in-1”, so you may not really be getting your money’s worth.

This cream has very few ingredients that actually address the claims that they make- and all are present in very small concentrations (there’s more preservative than antioxidant in this formula, and if you look for anti-wrinkle agent Niacinamide on the label- it’s the 3rd to last ingredient).

Honestly, if you’re looking for good skincare on the cheap, check out products from CeraVe and Olay (particularly the Regenerist line) They’re better formulates and they’re half the price- or less- than this FAB cream.

  2. I really like this cream. As Beauty Snob Sharon said, it is just enough moisture for this time of year. I think I’ll be able to use it through the summer and into the fall.

I’ve been impressed with this product line. I have serious skin allergies and I can use it without having to slap on the cortisone. I’ll be interested to see what happens in the future with the line of products. I hope that someday we get FAB hair products.
