My friend Kelly Framel, a.k.a. The Glamourai, has a line of handcrafted jewels that make me crazy every time I see her wear them. Not just one of the hottest style bloggers in existence today, she was, first and foremost, a fashion designer (as creative director at Naeem Kahn). Kelly understands design and is intuitive of what makes jewelry unique. Her one-of-a-kind pieces means you won’t show up at a cocktail party with the same jewels as any of the other girls, not one. And isn’t that what we all want?
Kelly’s pieces look like family heirlooms inherited from the hippest glam-rock grandma ever. The massive to-the-knuckle ring looks like a vintage piece made of old mine-cut stones, but look closer – trust me, you won’t be able to help yourself – to find the thoroughly modern urban chic details, like black matte leather and a fat silver band. The teardrop earrings, a classic shape sharpened with cut glass and hard-edged crystals, would dress up anything, especially jeans and a white T-shirt. The Black Magic Ring, and Black Licorice Earrings at Kelly Framel for $275 each.
Pair with: Do it up, bejeweled cocktail style, with Jimmy Choo’s slouchy clutch completed with a coiling crystal snake at the closure. Jimmy Choo “Candice” Swarovski Crystal Suede Clutch, $1,595.
